Glass Slippers

Just a kick back Sunday night!

Kickin’ back in slippers ; )

IMG_4603Blog

After a few days of meals out, we wanted to cook in tonight. But the party still continues. Drinkin’ out of a glass!

IMG_4593Blog

I had a few pours of this Lyeth Sonoma County Meritage. YUM!

IMG_4594Blog

Matt and I walked to Whole Foods for ingredients – in the rain!!

And then he got to work while I played fairy again!!

IMG_4595Blog

But while our dinner was cooking, he tasted the coveted Dogfish 120 Minute IPA

IMG_4598Blog

Oh heavens!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was like an IPA and a barleywine combined. I LOVED it. But notice there are only three glasses – I knew this 18%ABV drink was too much for me!

IMG_4602Blog

Dinner up!

IMG_4605Blog

We made an Acorn Squash, Kale, Brussels + Chicken Sausage Soup. It was a mix of this soup and this soup, so use your imagination with the ingredients : )

IMG_4607Blog

Squash and greens and sautéed portabellas – excellenttt!

IMG_4614Blog

IMG_4616Blog

We picked up a variety of rolls – cran walnut, whole wheat and brioche. I had a taste of each

IMG_4611Blog

IMG_4610Blog

Mmmmmm wine pairing!

IMG_4620Blog

IMG_4608Blog

IMG_4623Blog

After cleaning up dinner, we headed down the street for a coffee date with some of the local gals. Nice conversation, new friends!

IMG_4632Blog

Peppermint tea with steamed milk to sip. I have yet to be cold in Boston – there’s always heat cranking, a thick coat to put on our a hot drink in my hand!

IMG_4627Blog

And to end the night – some of Larbs’s October birthday cake!! Split with the rest – one bite for each. That seems to be the theme of the weekend!
