Get Sloshed.

Guess who went to BodyStep today! Me!!

I was hoping for something amazing, but it was really just a typical step class. Except for ONE song that was a jazz-hands dance number! I loved that one song. The rest of the class was good though, and I do hope to go back. It was a great change from the elliptical, and my legs will be feeling it tomorrow. [Boy-oh-boy was biking to the gym and back super cold today! I think my ankles have frostbite!]

Came home. Got sloshed.

BLOG-0822

Can you guess what the fun contribution to my juice was?

BLOG-0809

BLOG-0805

La pina!

BLOG-0807

Into the juicer – 2 carrots, 3 celeries, 1 whole cuc, 1 knob ginger, a big hunk of pineapple.

BLOG-0818

Dogfish represent!

BLOG-0819

The other half of lunch was a morph of hummus soup from last night – into hummus SCOOP!

BLOG-0825

Take a chip, any chip!

BLOG-0836

Hummus, spiced up with sriracha, more lemon and cilantro with chips for dipping

BLOG-0827

The chip forest was a great idea – until I realized they were all soggy on the bottom!

BLOG-0829

Did you look closely at my Pisgah glass?

BLOG-0816

Those are bubbles – made from our own KEG OF SPARKLING WATER!! Matt used his kegs and CO2 dispenser to turn water into magic. MAGIC! I’m super super excited about this because I’ve wanted a Soda Stream for ages but never wanted another appliance in my kitchen. This makes me more happy about the mass of beer equipment in our basement. We can put it in bottles and I’ll have tons and tons of my favorite water.

But get this – the keg was apparently not AS clean as Matt would like because after sitting overnight there is now a slight hoppy taste to the water! It’s like beer flavored seltzer. I’m likin’ it!

So the next, next big thing? Another beautiful giveaway:

I think our body has enzymes to digest all kinds of foods, so I think it’s a bit over the deep end. Our ancestors didn’t care about food combining – they just needed to eat for energy.

Just wanted to leave a note about the SodaStream – I have one, and it’s FANTASTIC. I hear the concern about another appliance on the counter, but it’s really light and portable, and would be easy to take in and out of a cabinet when needed as long as you have the space to store it.

It is SO much easier than lugging home bottles or cans from the supermarket, and saves a ton of packaging. It’s also extremely cost effective. One $15 canister will last me about a month and I drink a lot of seltzer – liters and liters of it – so it would probably last a normal person a lot longer! BB&B just started carrying their products, and with a coupon the canisters only cost $10.

I know I sound like a commercial – but I really just love my SodaStream!

I have a juicer, but it’s gotten a little bit dusty sitting in the pantry since the end of summer. That colorful orange juice has tempted me to bring it back out though 🙂

One of the best juices I’ve ever had is pineapple and parsley. I know it sounds a little odd but it is so refreshing and delicious! Why haven’t I thought of putting sriracha on hummus? I’m a bit slow and dorky sometimes. I want a soda stream, too. I have this burning desire to figure out how to make chocolate soda.
