Forage For Breakfast

For two years now I’ve been telling myself I’d get up early and go to the City Market for breakfast. Because we have to be at childbirth class at 9am, today was the perfect day! Matt and I were up at 6:30, showered and enjoying breakfast there by 8! Also got in 2 nice miles of walking!

image this !

I found wonderful whole wheat strawberry muffins at Belle Haven Bakery

image

Which I ate most of but shared with Matt

image

Coffee from Shenandoah Joe’s, of course

image

image

Matt had an egg sandwich from Babes In The Wood

image

And finally, a donut from the Baker’s Palette. The smells wafting from their booth every week are absolutely mesmerizing!

image

We bought Steadfast Farm cherries, Jam!!!, sausage to take to the beach from The Rock Barn and a loaf of whole grain bread from this awesome bakery!!

Happy Weekend!

Glad you enjoyed the muffin! Your pictures are beautiful. Looked like it was a great day to be at the market. Tell Matt we enjoyed the loaf he brought out to Meade Park the other day. Ironically, I never have fresh bread in the house (go figure), and it was so nice to have one that wasn’t a “reject”. See you around the markets!

I always wanted to go to the farmers market for breakfast, and I wish I had because now I can’t! Well I could, lol, but I don’t know what I’d find without gluten! Lesson learned, seize opportunities while you still have them!

Darn, I forgot to drive down to the city market today, again. Well, I guess I need a prompt on Saturday mornings, but today has got to be one of the best weather-wise!! Hope you had a great class 🙂

We are breakfast twins! I was at City Market this morning, and I enjoyed that same strawberry muffin for breakfast! They had whole wheat blueberry ginger muffins a couple of weeks ago that were wonderful. And of course, I just love GH muffins too! 🙂

I am absolutely in love with farmers markets! This morning after a nice run I was able to pick up eggs, sugar snap peas, potatoes, watermelon radishes(!), carrots, blueberries, beets, and squash! I love it when I don’t have to buy any vegetables from the grocery store. Oh, and of course lettuce from our garden 🙂

After classes have Matt come up to Illinois this evening. I’m going to a beer tasting event that involves Canadian Breakfast Stout! (Not trying to exclude you but with the whole baby and frowned upon EtOH consumption, I don’t recommend you partake-ha.)

Looks like you had a lot of fun! I was wondering whether you like the Original or Garlic/Mushroom No Bull burgers more and also if you think you might be selling granola again on Open Sky anytime soon? My kids love your granola and we just ran out. 🙁 Thanks!
