Flipper

Went on a nice walk with The Strong Mama today, followed by a yoga class at our gym. The walk was great, but the yoga class was not. The only part of me that got a workout was my concentration (which is good!)

IMG_7645 (640x427) (4)

I got home just before dinnertime to find Matt getting a head start "for the sun." So nice of him! We just caught it again tonight.

On the menu: Roasted Apple Sausage, Roasted Potatoes and Braised Cabbage

IMG_7685 (640x427) (3)

For me?

IMG_7649 (640x427) (2)

Wait, you mean this isn’t for drinking?!

IMG_7656 (640x427) (4)

Cabbage braised in beer!

IMG_7658 (640x427) (3)

Here is the recipe page: Beer Braised Cabbage. The sweet brown beer sauce was REALLY good!!

IMG_7669 (427x640)

Brace yourself…

…."They call him, Flipper, Flipper, faster than lightening. No one you see, is smarter than he!" Do you see him!?

IMG_7664 (640x427) (4)

IMG_7680 (640x427) (2)

IMG_7689 (640x427) (2)

YUM!

For dessert, we tried the these Ghiradelli Luxe Milk chocolates sent via the Foodbuzz Tastemaker Program. I loved the hazelnut one – reminded me of hazelnut butter love!! I have to say though, I really don’t love milk chocolate anymore. Bring it on dark! Hazelnut + dark would be dreamy. Still, these were great after a good meal

Thumbs up this !

I have to be up early tomorrow to travel to Richmond for a dietetics day. Might have juuuuust enough time to squeeze in a movie first!

Sounds yum, although I’d have to do the braising in something else, as beer is a major migraine trigger for me. We had apple sausage for dinner tonight too – the chicken/apple one from Aidell’s. So tasty, with mashed red lentils, a very KERFish dinner, if I do say so.

The lentils are super easy – I followed the directions on the bag!

Milk chocolate is like a high school boyfriend who you just cannot see ever dating again even though you loved him madly at the time because now you are really into mature men (dark chocolate). At least, that’s how I feel about it. Milk chocolate no long has any appeal to me, bring me the DARK chocolate. The darker, the better!

Thanks, Kath! Did you mean you don’t know the brand of sausage? (you wrote ‘squash’) 🙂

When you say organic brand from Whole Foods – do you mean a brand that is sold at Whole Foods or specifically the Whole Foods brand itself (365 Organics)?

I shop at Whole Foods every week and haven’t found a sausage I love yet. So was just curious! Thanks!
