Fishy Football

Couldn’t ask for a more beautiful day

IMG_6325BlogIMG_6328Blog

If only the wind would die down so we could enjoy the outdoors! It is WICKED out there!

IMG_6330Blog

This afternoon we did manage a grocery store trip to the little store here. Thank goodness for golf cart coverings!

IMG_6331Blog

Shotgun!

IMG_6315BlogIMG_6319BlogIMG_6322Blog

Don’t forget your reusable bag!

IMG_6317Blog

Three’s company

IMG_6316Blog

Once home we played a round of Taboo

IMG_6332Blog

Hunger hit me hard at 5:00 and I filled a snack bowl with Chex Mix and Wheat Thins

IMG_6337Blog

6PM cocktail hour was filled with the usual samplings of interesting brews

IMG_6343Blog

I loved the Rogue Hazelnut Brown

IMG_6346Blog

Didn’t love the banana bread…

IMG_6348Blog

And will always love Matt’s Imperial Pumpkin!

IMG_6349Blog

Dad treated us to dinner at Ebb + Flo’s for seafood.

IMG_6400Blog

The fried food started with was excellent –

IMG_6369Blog

The hushpuppies and okra – both favorites!

IMG_6367Blog IMG_6375BlogIMG_6379Blog

The beers were also good – I shared with mom.

And since our whole family has just finished reading The Raw Shark Texts, we were all shocked to find a fish and a shark in the beers!

IMG_6355BlogIMG_6357Blog

But sadly, my food was really bad. We’ve ordered this steamer in the winter before, but tonight it was just sad. Nothing tasted good at all. [Matt and I shared it]

IMG_6387Blog

And my salad had onions on it, and instead of making a new salad, the chef must have just picked the big ones off because I found about 5 inside the lettuce. Also a disappointment.

IMG_6399Blog

Once back at the Marsh Harbor, Andrew threw a party in his room for the Saints v. Falcons football game. Beer and chocolate!

I’ve got a bit of a headache (can’t seem to get hydrated after that run today – I’ve been on fire all afternoon) but I enjoyed a few Christmas treats: a bourbon ball, one of Larbs’s pumpkin cups and a bite of Candace’s gingerbread.

As someone who works in the food and beverage industry, it really bothers me when waitstaff do that. If you messed up the order and it gets sent back, Do. It. Over.

…Especially if its something as simple as a side salad.

No joke…I ran out to the grocery store earlier today after seeing Larbs’ pumpkin cups so that I could give them a shot. That recipe is a keeper and my first go at them came out awesome! Thanks for sharing 🙂

Loved the golf cart covering. During the spring, I work at a local greenhouse where we get around on golf carts. If it’s raining or snowing out, we use the large rolls of shrink wrap to enclose the cab of the golf carts!
