No need for snacking today – I was stuffed from my late lunch all afternoon! And dying of thirst for some reason too. I managed to get a lot done, although none of it was Metabolism studying 🙁 So much blog admin work – emails, comments, and more!
Luckily while I worked on a Real Food Consultation, Matt made me dinner
But this time it was a pizza pie!
He wanted to try out his whole wheat pizza crust in a thick Sicilian way so instead of flattening it out he put it in a baking dish like a cake.
Topped with an Applegate Farm’s Organic Sweet Italian Sausage, bell peppers, Ragu and Trader Joe’s Mexican Lite cheese.
I enjoyed a quarter of the pie.
On the side we had a romaine salad with carrot + pepper + almonds
with some Annie’s Woodstock
Thanks dear husband for another great dinner!
Not sure how I didn’t know this already, but Google Sync enables you to sync your iPhone or other smart phone with Gmail (new), G-Calendar, and Contacts. I was using a third party – Nuevasync – to do this but I feel better letting Google handle the task. I can now sync all 10+ of my Google Calendars instead of the 5 I was limited to with Nuevasync. I am happy!
I am literally flying in and out of Cali in 48 hours, but a few people mentioned a meet-up. My only free time is Sunday morning before I have to head to the airport via taxicab around 10:30. If you’re free and would like to join me for either 1) A run around 7:30 2) Brunch around 9:00 or 3) BOTH, please email me at KathEats at Gmail.com.
I have one more short thing to do and then I might go get in bed with my MET notes!
What a creative way to eat pizza! Looks great!
Shannon (The Daily Balance) says
love that pizza pie! I always forget how amazing the thick Chicago-style za crust is. Your photos are looking gorgeous!! 😉

Brie (The Fit Bride) says
That pizza looks fabulous! I love whole wheat pizza crust. Bonus: the dough freezes well so I always make double or triple what I need.
just wondering–do you have an easier way to download your pictures from your camera onto your computer? I feel that I’d blog so much more often if it didn’t take like 10 minutes every time I load pictures to my computah! : (
I think a lot of people around blog land felt like pizza tonight, I had pizza too 🙂
Deep dish is the way to my heart, yours looks delish. Props to Matt too, it looks super healthy!

I totally want to try the pizza pie with the TJ’s whole wheat crust…it’s a bit flabby so maybe pie-form is the way to go. Awesome idea!

Pizza and sausage? That’s my type of food
Didn’t know Google could do that its self! Definitely checking that out since I’ve been using a third party app. too!

I love that Matt is creative and can keep coming up with new ideas for meals to help you out. How awesome is that!
What does Annie’s woodstock taste like? I’ve only had annie’s goddess. It was great but the price tag is sometimes a lot. I know that I want to have a few others to try the next time it’s on sale.
Meredith (Pursuing Balance) says
That pizza looks amazing! Annie’s makes some good dressings. I usually stick to the Goddess dressing, but I ought to branch out!
Gorgeous pictures, Kath! The pizza looks delicious–well done, Matt!
Hi Kath, I’m a new reader and I love your blog! I’m a freshman in college, dietetics major, and in the same place with my weight as you were a few years ago. You are such an inspiration!

Too bad your only free time is Sunday! I have a event to go to soon after 10:30, so if you did brunch I could go. But since I need to be showered and ready to go so I could not do a run. If you plan a brunch I would be down.
The pizza looks delicious. Surprised with all the dough around, it hasn’t been tried before. Have a great night!
That pizza looks so tasty! What a fabulous husband! You two are so cute!

Rats, I would love to meet up but have a training ride(65-miler) that I can not miss on Sunday since my Century is the weekend after.
what an awesome dinner!
That’s probably a result of your computer being slow, but I use Windows Photo Gallery (download from windowslive.com for free) and it’s a great photo importing and organizing tool.
It’s cheesy like nutritional yeast, if you’ve ever had that.
Thank you and welcome!
In G-cal each calendar is a different category of life – personal, school, workouts, meals, each of my classes.
