Eat, Win, Breathe

My sickness got worse this afternoon as I chugged through school work, but then I rallied after a walk + a sip of this beer! Guess that’s what the doctor ordered 😉

I was hungry for a snack earlier than usual despite my late lunch. High protein lunches just never do it for me. In honor of the Nature’s Path contest, I opened another box from my sample pack: Optimum Slim. Loved it! It’s kind of like 3 cereals in one, and you guys know how I like to mix cereals for variety. I loved that there were the fiber worms and bigger flakier pieces too.

IMG_3714 (1024x768)

This was about half a cup each of cereal + TJ’s greek, along with a drizzle of honey.

IMG_3713 (1024x768)

Of course I spoiled my appetite with that delicious snack. We had plans for black bean burgers and cabbage slaw, but neither was appealing on my sensitive stomach. So we declared it “Eat What You Want Night.”

He made a huge cabbage salad made with half a cabbage head (which was a TON), Country Bob’s, Sriratcha, and Feta. Said it was very filling.

IMG_3715 (1024x768)

I decided (around 8pm when I finally got an appetite) on a European fruit + cheese plate.

IMG_3724 (1024x768)

Some Kerrygold Aged Cheddar! Mmmmmmmmmm! Loved it – perfectly sharp and just the right texture.

IMG_3721 (1024x768)

Worst strawberries ever.

Best orange ever.

IMG_3722 (1024x768)

And a GH Cinnamon Raisin bun with some butter and jam!

    Hi Kath,

I was trying to post earlier and enter the contest but unfortunately I couldn’t post the comment from my blackberry – and I can’t access the site at work 🙁 Oh well…next time!) But congrats to the winners! 🙂
And I know you’ll feel better soon…jetlag and travelling always take a few days to get over (I’m always tired and sluggish after getting back from being abroad…especially after long flights). Lots of water, sleep and just easing back into me routine help get me back on track. You’ll be fine soon….just don’t worry! I can’t wait to read your article now…!

    Best always,

    Farah 🙂

kath, are you still taking the malaria pills? all your “sickness” symptoms sound really familiar and those can most definitly be coming as a side effect of the malaria pill. i’ve been in your shoes returning from another country and feeling worse once i returned home–due to the anti-malaria medication.

hope you’re feelin’ 100% soon soon soon!

Speaking of veggies, I came across the cutest poem yesterday while investigating the radish…
Do you carrot all for me?
    My heart beets for you,
    With your turnip nose
    And your radish face,
    You are a peach.
    If we cantaloupe,
    Lettuce marry;
    Weed make a swell pear.

I found it at poeticpower.com. Don’t you just love it? 🙂
