Doom + Gloom

THANKFULLY there was no rain this morning, but we can feel the hurricane in the air

IMG_6283Blog

So here’s a cheerful breakfast to brighten your day

IMG_6273-2Blog

I was up at 6:30 after a restless night. There was a stink bug crawling on my arm, and both Matt and I had trouble falling sleep. I think we tossed and turned for 2 hours. It’s SO humid, but not hot enough to put the AC on.

Insta-cereal in a jar!

A mix of Quaker Oatmeal squares and Oikos (both from HLS!), banana, blueberries, chia seeds and peanut butter residue

Awake tea to try to keep me awake during our slicing event..

The Jefferson Sprint Triathlon was held pretty close to our house, so I walked there. Didn’t want to risk a downpour on my camera, so I just took my cell phone in a plastic bag.

Extremely impressed with the camera on the phone – and loved using this Retro Camera app!!

So thankful the rain held off!!

It’s funny, but you’d think I’d be inspired to go exercise after slicing bread at a race, but it always wears me out!! All I want to do is take a nap. I’m sure the weather doesn’t help! Perhaps I will settle in on some yoga as a compromise.

I hope you guys stay safe with the storm coming!

LOVE the last pic of you two! So sweet!

I really wanted to introduce myself to you at HLS, but I was too shy when I saw you, next time I will not be! Have a great day!

Wow, the camera pictures are legit! Sometimes I consider getting a nice smartphone just for the camera… it might be better than my dinky little digital 😉 Hehe. Hope you guys don’t endure too much craziness with the storm, and that you get a nap — I can definitely understand why slicing and serving hungry athletes all morning would be an energy drain! 🙂

Wow, your camera takes really good pictures off your phone! I tend to have to apologize for mine on the blog when that is all I have as they are grainy and really unless it is super sunny, awful!
I love the photo of the bread, do you guys carve the grain into every loaf??

If you did, then how did you know about the race?
Just curious as I have a business and was wondering.

I have the hardest time volunteering at races…because I hate being on the sidelines! But I would give the world to have freshly baked bread waiting for me after a race. Usually, all they have is junk. There may be a table of sad, overripe bananas, but there is always a table full of doughnuts or Chick-fil-a biscuits. I’ll never understand it…give me bread!

WOW! I dont know how you do it. Everytime you say that you dont have your air on, I think about how uncomfortable I would be if we didnt have our air on. Unfortunately one night this past week our air conditioner broke and we had to go a night without it and it was humid in the house. I could not sleep and I was thinking about you because I knew that I could NEVER do it.
So is it really only because you dont mind the warmth that you dont turn it on or do you think that air conditioning isnt “green” or “eco-friendly”??

I just like fresh air. Sometimes it is really hot, but I just like breezes and the sound of crickets. I think AC feels so fake. When it’s 100* outside, I love it. But when it’s only 80*, I think breezes are better
