Cran, Buggy and Spiiiiider

Our springy weather was awesome, but it didn’t last long! I think those tulips are now waiting by the window for it to return!

BLOG-0035

I went out walking in the sunshine glory this afternoon to meet my friend Heather for a coffee.

Break out the sunnnies!

BLOG-0043 BLOG-0037 BLOG-0038 BLOG-0039

This nerd also walk with headphones for audio books and mom chatting ; ) And my FUL bag stocked with my camera for mid-walk self photography!

BLOG-0047

I didn’t end up wanting a coffee (it was too warm out!) but we got to catch up on a bench for a while 🙂

BLOG-0042

When I returned, we headed over to Karen’s to heat up some leftovers and finally get her computer up and running!! It was a fun task, but can you imagine the irony when Comcast decided to interrupt service just when I was getting started! We really thought the computer was broken – again – for a moment.

I was excited about dinner all day – heat + eat!!

BLOG-0062

Leftover meatloaf (LOVED this recipe!)

BLOG-0061

Leftover Greens Casserole

BLOG-0053

And a huge pile of kale massaged in garlic gold lemon vinaigrette!!

BLOG-0059

BLOG-0052

Dark chocolate for dessert : )

BLOG-0063

Your evening entertainment rivals network television! Here’s Karen’s Southern dialect in all its glory –

Goodnight!!

all americans (southern, or otherwise) misprounounce my name…you all have accents compared to us canadians!
americans say a-LAWN-a usually instead of the correct a-LAN-a (rhymes with banana)
    i secretly love it though!

Funny, I know a Canadian Elana and she pronounces it e-LAN-a. I say it more like e-LAH-na than e-LAWN-a though.

Heehee I agree, as a Canadian I find that Karen, Matt and Kath all have southern accents. Although I do hear Karen’s a bit more 😀 Oh and I love that she said BUGGY! And Karen you do not look like you would be attending a 40 year reunion! You look great 🙂

Maggie – me too! Kath’s and Matt’s accents subtle (certain words they say bring it out); Karen’s is far more pronounced (to my ears). 🙂

I’ve heard potato bugs, pill bugs, and roly-polies all to describe the same bug! Here in the northeast, I think it’s more common for older people to refer to them as roly-polies. I remember in high school we did a science lab involving them, and I’m pretty sure they were potato bugs.

I grew up calling them both roly-polys and potato bugs; occasionally I heard pill bug but it’s not a term I’d use. Grew up in Indiana.

I moved to Sweden for a year and had to adjust my accent and pronuciate properly so my English could be understood! When I moved back tongue south, I constantly heard “you talk funny now” and when meeting new people, no one believed I was from the south! :o)

A few months back I got a 3 pound bag of chia seeds and I’m not quite sure how to store them? I’ve been using mason jars like I’ve seen you do, but I was wondering if I should freeze what does not fit in the jar. Also does the jar need to kept cold?
