Cool n Crunchy

Sometimes you just need crunchy cereal!

IMG_8170Blog

And big fluffy banana cream bites

IMG_8174Blog

And spoonfuls soaked in milk

IMG_8177Blog

And a warm cup of coffee. Oh wait, this is really just tea.

IMG_8175BlogIMG_8179Blog

Bowl of Optimum Slim Blueberry Cinnamon I got with an old Nature’s Path coupon. Not the most Real Food of the cereal bunch (I couldn’t have made this at home, ahem, barley malt extract and soy fiber) but sometimes you just need the good crunchy stuff [and there are much worse ones out there.].

IMG_8181Blog

Mixed up with chia seeds, brown rice puffs and coconut and topped with a cup of milk shaken in the empty Banana Mango yogurt container, this bowl was close to heaven on earth!

IMG_8173Blog

Know what else is cool n crunchy? As in Tech Crunchy? The KERF iPhone app!

image

We are showering and then heading out on our bikes downtown, then the bakery for lots of assembly, lunch with Allie, beer brewing with Seamane + Rob, and finally a cookout with Jess + Mike.

It’s cold outside, but at least the sun is out to help warm me up!

I don’t usually care for cereal, but when I’m super thirsty or when it’s really hot out, sometimes I just crave that cold and CRUNCH!

By the way, I absolutely love the new “Eat More” section at the bottom of your posts. It’s so fun. [It’s done automatically, I assume, like the “Related Posts” feature?]

9 times out of 10 all I want for breakfast is a green smoothie, but sometimes the only thing that will do is crispy cereal, sweet banana slices, and icy cold milk. You are SO right. Actually, I had cereal today and it was perfect.

Can I ask – what do you have your bowl of cereal sitting on in this photo? Is it a table top? It is stunning, I love all those beautiful colors.

I tried to start a few years back and I was loving it but I ended up getting pregnant (surprise baby #3!). So, now, 2 years later I’m ready to start again and your site was a big motivation for that. So, just wanted to say HI and thanks!

I agree about the soy fiber, but barley malt is legitimate! Eden Foods makes an organic version that is sometimes useful in baking for that ‘syrup’-y/honey effect (ex. glazed nut bars). It’s almost identical to brown rice syrup, which is used more for gluten-free baking. Link: http://www.edenfoods.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=104050 – Anyway, there are definitely far worse products out there, as you acknowledged, so enjoy.
