Cookies n Cream

Well, really…

Crackers and yogurt!

IMG_0945Blog-2

IMG_0939Blog

Layers of plain yogurt, Great Harvest cinnamon raisin oatmeal mix [which has a touch of flour for creaminess, cinnamon and a pinch of brown sugar], fresh berries and Carr’s Whole Wheat Crackers! I wouldn’t really call these crackers wholesome but they’re not bad and a fun treat. Graham crackers could serve the same function here!

Iced tea spoons rule the world

IMG_0952Blog

So do beer glasses!!

IMG_0949Blog

I got up a RAN this morning!!! I hadn’t been on a run since …like…Thursday!? So it felt really, really good. I got to sleep in just a wee bit more than I have been, but I was still up at 6:15 to maximize my time.

Some days I feel like a clunker car and other days gazelle. Today I was a gazelle, moving lightly and swiftly with seemingly long legs. I ran mile 2 in 8:10!!! But I crashed a bit by mile 4 – two big hills got me and I had to stop and walk.

Still a great run and an even greater breakfast.

I’m headed to the bike shop in a bit and then to the bakery for the rest of the day!

Since your lifestyle is different now that you’re running your business and all it’ll just take time to adjust 😛

I hope you don’t mind me stepping in here to comment, but I am a graduate student in nutrition, so I thought I’d offer a little help. First of all, you’re not crazy. 🙂 Fruit, although an EXCELLENT food, is made mostly of fiber and sugar, so the sugar can cause you to feel a “crash”, and therefore, hungry again. I suggest you pair the fruit with yogurt and either some nuts/seeds or whole grains or both to keep your satiety level at bay for a while. Try making a parfait (like in this post! =]) or a smoothie. I hope this helps!

Eeek! Those iced tea spoons are giving me a flashback. I’m a Meeting & Event Planner and long ago I had a nightmare client who kept telling me she needed “yogurt spoons” at our coffee breaks. I’d never heard of such a thing and was stumped. Turns out (which makes sense if you think about it) she wanted iced tea spoons as regular teaspoons get coated in yogurt in certain packaging when you try and eat it.

They are absolutely perfect for the parfait you made but that woman was such a horror show I’m still traumatized. 🙂

PS – and this has nothing to do with anything but I’m getting married in September and we are going to Napa/Sonoma on our honeymoon. I’m going to be scrolling your archives and stealing some ideas of where to go so thanks in advance for doing the legwork. 😉

Omigosh that looks so yummy!! You don’t by chance ship that mix to CA, do you?? I’m totally yogurt/berries/granola right now so that looks up my alley!

Breakfast looks delicious!! I can’t wait for summer to start producing local fresh berries, this will be at least a weekly staple meal.

    And congrats on the run!

What a great way to start your day! Your breakfast looks delicious and I love that it seems so simple to “throw” together in the morning. I love finding foods that are easy to add into my daily routine.
