Photos and thoughts on my birthday!

Another birthday, another excuse to make my boys take pictures with me! I feel like I have finally reached the age where I don’t want to broadcast it around. Let’s just keep thinking I’m 36, ok?! (If you really want to know and don’t, hint below 😉 )

This year has included some big decisions, a new home, and a trip I’d been dreaming about for years. But a lot of what I want is pretty simple: time with my boys, creative work I’m excited about, movement everyday, good food (specifically, cheese), and people who make me laugh (you know who you are!)
Brad from Choose FI talks about imagining your “perfect Tuesday”: what would your ideal ordinary day actually look like, from sunup to bedtime? He says you have to get very specific. You can’t just say “no work and cupcakes for breakfast.” But be realistic and outline the whole day. What lights you up? I love this question, and I’ve been thinking about it lately as I create a life that feels like me. I’m still tweaking how I do things around the house, parenting, and our rhythms.
So here’s a little snapshot of the three of us in this season. Naturally, I’m sharing a million photos. Thanks to Sarah Cramer Shields for making us all smile big!

Who is the coolest?

If you said him, he’d say you are correct!

We get a lot of this look these days:

But we know he still loves us <3

Who is the tallest?! Definitely not me!

Can you believe I grew him???

Who is the snuggliest?!
This is why I lift 50 pound kettlebells on the reg.

Let’s celebrate!!

If you remember back to 2016, Mazen I did a photo shoot with Sarah that involved lots of confetti. I requested we try to re-enact this photo a decade later!

Pretty crazy that I still own this outfit and have the same hair length!

But obviously Mazen is a whole new person!

Mazen was almost 4 here!

Birch is a few days from 8!

Three Of Us, Right Now
One teenager, one elementary schooler, and one mom who would appreciate it if time could slow down a tiny bit.
They’re in such different stages, and I love having these photos of us together.
