Clockwork Orange

Thanks for all of your lighting insight! I am still undecided. I agree with you guys about outgrowing the colors, BUT I’m not in love with the felt look of that gray one. And I wish it were just a tad lighter. The hunt continues!

Especially since Betty pointed me to Seascape lamps…soooooo many choices!!

These are just the first half of the oranges!!!

And here is more orange:

Fuel for an hour-long spin class! The class was great, and I ran into two more of my gym friends. I just love how fun going to the gym has become!! Kelly + Mary actually hung out with Robyn last night – we connected the circle!

I came home starving for dinner, and luckily we had a re-heat one planned.

IMG_2148Blog

A leftover portion of Huge Bean Soup that I froze just before Thanksgiving. Reheat ‘n eat.

IMG_2145Blog

And on the side – a taste of 3 breads. A Goldilocks group. Cheddar Garlic tastes amazing, but has 0% whole wheat. Spinach Feta has so much flavor but is about 1/3 whole wheat. Cville Crunch is my fav, but isn’t the most gourmet soup side but is 100% whole wheat and the healthiest choice. Since I couldn’t decide, I just had a small piece of each. The best of all 3 worlds!

IMG_2146BlogIMG_2147Blog

After dinner Matt and I watched the film An Education. It was one of those I added to Netflix ages ago and when it arrived I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t have a clue what it was about.

I ended up LOVING the film. It was a modern-made coming-of-age set in the 1960s that watched like a short story. Great plot and characters!

Good night friends, see you for breakfast.

I used to be really into interior design when I was little, then realized that I’d be too overwhelmed by all the options available to be good at it! It’s so hard to pick from everything out there! God help me when I move into my first apartment and have to decorate it on my own…so much to choose from.

Dinner looks DEEEEELISH, btw! I’m freezing in my room so that hearty meal is warming me via computer.

You have to LOVE what you get. That’s what I think of when I see an item. Do I absolutely LOVE it or just like it a lot? Sometimes I walk away and go home and if the next day I still WANT it (and of course can afford it) then I get it. I got a mirror at 80% off that way! I LOVED it but couldn’t afford it (it was almost $300!) then I found it in another store a month later. I paid just $59.00.

    Mmm, bread tasting plate.

An Education is sort of the story of my man and I, almost everything leading up to the drama at the end of the movie. None of that happened! …and we’re still happily together, unlike the movie 😉

don’t get the west elm one if you don’t love it…you may tire of the colorful one, sure, if you get that…but you can probably ebay/craigslist it or just…donate it after a few years. You will have gotten your money’s worth, so to speak…and tastes change and times move on. Get what you love now, and worry about getting tired of it…for that rainy day….if it ever comes. I have some things people told me id get sick of but years later, I still love em.

Whatever you get…will look wonderful, no doubt!

I loved that movie too! I almost always choose the indies over any other genre.

I agree with others: if you don’t love it, leave it. Take your time. Truthfully, I personally would find it dificult t to choose a lampshade via Internet. esp one that will be such a prominant fixture in an already furnished dining room. Maybe it would be an easier decision if you were to visit a few of the stores – such as West Elm, Room and Board, C+B, Cb2, etc. if any are relatively local to you.

Yum to soup and bread for dinner!

We had some toasted GH Stuffing and Spinach Red Pepper Swiss with our Salmon Veggie Chowder this evening. My husband loved the soup but was too full for seconds because he ate too much bread! With the lampshade I would go with your instinct and what you really love even if you do change it. With decorating, we tend to take our time and make sure we don’t make impulse decisions, but we also make sure we make decisions for ourselves not what other people would choose. You are the one who gets to enjoy seeing the lampshade everyday so choose something fun that fits into your wonderful decorating style. I really like the green and blue one, but I also love some of the orange ones, good luck choosing!
