Cinderella, Dressed In Yella

Howdy!

Was in a smoooooth moooood and whipped this guy up in one of our last remaining bowls!

Featuring a Strawberry Dahlicious Lassi as the liquid. I really liked these a lot and will definitely seek them out again! The banana was my fav 🙂

IMG_5536 (640x427)

The Vita-Mix

  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 container Dahlicious Lassi
  • 5 frozen strawberries
  • 1 scant scoop Vega Vanilla Almond (MAKES a smoothie!)
  • 1/4 cup dry oats
  • 1 big handful spinach (why not!?)
  • Toppings: Nature’s Path and coconut butter magic shell

IMG_5544 (640x427)

Starbucks Via. I do not like the Italian Roast flavor one BIT! It smelled like someone’s stale coffee breath. GROSS!

SIAB + Cali + Rosanna

Have a good one my Cinderellas!

I actually like the Starbucks instant coffee! I mean, it’s not a good, home-brewed, roasted coffee by any means. But it’s great for traveling or bringing on-the-go. I wonder if that package was old?? Or maybe I was just really in desparate need of a cup of coffee when I tried it.

    Your smoothie looks delicious! 😀

I like the other kinds OK but this was the Italian, which is a different blend. I think I like Columbia best.

I dont’ have the facts right in front of me, but I think Vega is a more complete profile nutritionally with omega-3s and all. You can go to their websites to compare. I like the taste of Vega much more.

Kath, have you ever tried Sun Warrior protein powder? I prefer vegan protein and have liked Amazing Meal in the past but am thinking about getting Vega per your recommendation instead. But I keep wondering about this Sun Warrior stuff: http://www.sunwarrior.com/products/sunwarrior-protein

I haven’t. I don’t really “believe” in protein powders (as I prefer real food) but something about Vega has captured me in. The Sun Warrior looks good, but I don’t know how much I would need to purchase it. But i suppose for satiety’s sake it’s probably good for smoothies!

Oh, I love the yellow bowl! Perfect color combination! HHHMMM I have only had the VIA once and I thought it was good, but seriously have no idea what flavor it was. I LOVE Starbucks Italian roast coffee though. It is chocolatey…to me. I think it is fascinating how people get different flavors from the same foods or drinks. Have a great day Kath!

… agree–the Italian Roast is pretty foul (even at the store!). Have been taking a cue from you–I guess it never occurred to me that fruit+dairy+fat could be a legit meal–and mainlining huge bowls of cottage cheese, hazelnuts and whatever’s ripe-and-cheap, ever since the heat came down. Is a vast, vast improvement.
