Chill The Air

Mornin’. Another pretty day here in Virginia. Tonight we are having a bunch of our new friends over for a Housecooling Party! Appropriate because it is only 46* outside!

Warm up with the basics:

Pear Peanut Oats

  • 1/3 cup homemade Scottish oats
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp chias
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 pear, chopped and added at the beginning
  • Chopped peanuts
  • Sunflower butter
  • Pear Fig Jam (JUST LOVE this jam! It’s got a great thick texture)

    Congrats on the column Kath, it looks great! It’s chilly here too and I’m supposed to be spending the afternoon out at my university’s homecoming football game. It’s my first year as an alumni and I haven’t a clue how football works, but I’m just hoping the rain holds off! Have a great Saturday!

    Great article! I was unsure how to cook all of those grains I keep hearing and reading about, but seems to be pretty much the same as the typical steamed or simmered rice. Wow, it is chilly in your area. Down here in Louisiana we are in the mid 80s.

    I can’t see myself ever eating and enjoying figs, but fig jam is the best!!!!
    I love love love it with crackers and cheese.
