C Is For Chocolate

IMG_5931 (640x427)

And Carrot-Cucumber-Kale Juice

IMG_5912 (640x427)

And Caftea Chocolate Cherry Cordial Coffee mixed with Christmas Blend decaf

IMG_5920 (427x640)

And Chia Seed-Cottage Cheese oats with Cacao Bliss and Cacao Nibs and Carrot Raisin Walnut Muffin

IMG_5926 (640x427)

And Cute Husband to share it all with

IMG_5928 (640x427)

And CHEERFUL.

Which I am NOT.

I never, ever, ever want to have more than ONE alcoholic beverage in a night. There is absolutely nothing good that comes from alcohol!! I only had about 2-2.5 normal-sized glasses over the course of FIVE HOURS last night. No problem for the normal person. But for my pure self (Katherine translates to pure) it was enough to make me Cranky when I got up this morning.

Relative to my hungover college days, I feel fine. But relative to how I feel on a normal morning, I feel like Crap!

Didn’t sleep well, am dehydrated, the works.

I had planned to make green juice for Matt this morning so that worked out well as an energy tonic.

IMG_5911 (640x427)

Kale + carrots + cuc + orange + lemon

IMG_5893 (640x427)

Love how it always comes out looking like rainbow sherbet 🙂

IMG_5896 (640x427)

IMG_5901 (640x427)

IMG_5902 (640x427) IMG_5903 (640x427) IMG_5904 (640x427)

It came out quite lemony but it was nutritious and delicious!

IMG_5908 (427x640)

IMG_5905 (640x427)

I had plans to make pancakes this morning but I decided on the day of L.O.V.E. I should make my favorite breakfast

IMG_5927 (640x427)

Unfortunately it wasn’t very good 🙁 Well, it tasted great, but I just wasn’t in the mood for this combination. And was feeling really shakey and "stomach might eat itself" starving so I wolfed it down 🙁

The Mix:

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, pinch salt
  • Half banana
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup cottage cheese

Toppings:

  • Carrot Raisin Walnut muffin from Great Harvest
  • Cacao Bliss frosting
  • Cacao nibs

IMG_5926 (640x427)

IMG_5925 (640x427)

To prevent the Caffeine headache:

IMG_5935 (640x427)

IMG_5919 (427x640)

What a fun C-inspired breakfast!

IMG_5929 (640x427)

But K is still the best letter!!

IMG_5922 (427x640)

Sorry you woke up not feeling to swell this morning! I wanted to thank you for the idea of drinking tonic water with a lime while out and about. My husband and I are needing to save money to move for school. But I still love going out to watch live music with my friends, so last night I had tonic water with a lime and little black straw all night 🙂 I probably saved $10-$15 dollars (including the tip)! I try not to drink much anyway but find myself needing something to hold or sip on, so this works great! =) I may have to ask them for a cherry next time!

Funny you wrote this because I was feeling the SAME WAY this morning. Not that I drank a lot (2 beers!), but my body was NOT ready for my hockey game this morning. I have a headache, am dehydrated, and just don’t feel “clear”. Not worth it!! 1 drink only is my new goal for evenings out — even though I love the taste, too much is just not a good thing! Happy V-day!

I would like to pay you a compliment. I just recently started reading your blog, and I am hooked. I like your blog because it is not anal retentive. A lot of healthy food blogs are like that, but I can really tell that you take great pleasure in eating the way you do, which is an inspiration. I can tell your heart is in it. ( instead of your head)
Also, I like the fact that you EAT! Eating is normal, eating is human!
Thank you for the effort you put into this blog. 🙂

Sorry you’re feeling yucky. I’ve actually thought the same thing about alcohol. For me, there’s really nothing good about consuming it. I drank my fair share of it in college, and over the past year (I’m 28 now) have barely drank any. I truly do not miss it. All it does for me is throw my entire body outta whack!
