Breakfast Out Of Bed

I slept so well last night. I don’t think we’d ever buy a king size bed. We love our four-poster and the sheets are mighty expensive. However, whenever we sleep royally while traveling, I always sleep so well!

Matt got up to have a farewell breakfast with Andrew while I dozed for another 45 minutes or so, dreaming that I was locked in a hospital room illegally!?

He returned with breakfast in bed. Although, I hate breakfast in bed! Something about getting the sheets all twisted grosses me out. So I got up to dine at our little couch + coffee table living room

 this !

I had more of that fabulous Whole Grain Goodness with a smashed banana and Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower Butter. I love eating this with a fork! And smashed banana is the BEST. It gets all soft and gooey and you can get some in each bite – no slices falling off!

On the side, honeydew and a hard-boiled eggin

IMG_6731 (640x427)

And a little brown water. Must seek better coffee when we hit the road!

I have a running date when we arrive in Charlotte, so once we pack up we’re off.

I am so glad you wrote you hate breakfast in bed – I thought I was the only one! It’s awkward, uncomfortable, stuff spills, crumbs get in the sheets…a nightmare.

Freya, I think you summed it up nicely, and I’m right there with you. Breakfast in bed sounds nice and romantic, but in the end . . . not so much, for all the reasons you mention!

I cannot stand breakfast in bed either! I’m more of an eating at the table kind of girl!!

When the Husband and I were able to sleep in a king sized bed on our honeymoon, we loved it! I’m not a “cuddler” when I sleep and absolutely hate being touched when I’m trying to fall asleep, so it was PERFECTTT!!!

    King sized beds overwhelm me!
I stay in the exact same spot the whole night, so to me, they are a waste of space…
unless they were so big that I would not hear my husband’s snoring, then I might appreciate them!

OMG. Long-time reader, first-time commenter: I totally had nightmares about being illegally detained in a hospital too! I had a couple of them: in the first, they had hidden my shoes, so I couldn’t leave and was frantically searching for them. In the second, a woman was harassing me as I tried and tried to lock and unlock hospital room doors.

I will have to look and see what you had to eat last night – maybe there is some connection?! I made the sloppy joe’s from this month’s Clean Eating, but I veganized them by using soy crumble instead of bison. Hm….

When I was growing up, my family had a tradition on Mother’s day and Father’s day to make breakfast in bed but we had a nice little lap table that not only was a great way to carry the food, but also fit nicely over the lap when sitting on the bed. I do dislike crumbs in my bed. Speaking of crumbs, I need to clean up the granola that fell out of my backpack onto my bed earlier this evening 🙂
