Books. Brew. Bison.

Afternoon fun included a new display table design…

IMG_1049-2Blog

Lots of thank you notes written to those who helped us with our opening…

IMG_1051-2Blog

And a beer delivery from Sheila and Ryan!! They congratulated us for our business opening with 3 of their very favorite Southern California beers. THANK YOU guys!! We are so excited to try them!

IMG_1046-2Blog

When it was time to leave, of course something was wrong with the money counting. Something ALWAYS seems to be wrong when we’re tired and hungry! [Thanks to KERF reader Jen who helped me with Quickbooks today : ) ]

Want to know how much I love my bike? I biked home in the rain!! It was sunshining but also raining today – that seems to happen in Cville a lot! I got a little wet, but mostly from splashing puddles. I survived, and it was worth it to get some fresh air + exercise.

I was greeted with refreshments – water + IPA!

IMG_1053-2Blog

Matt beat me home and served me some brew.

IMG_1055-2Blog

Karen was here getting started on dinner too!

IMG_1073-2Blog

Local bison burgers with roasted potatoes and cole slaw. Thanks Karen for another yummy dinner!

IMG_1080-2Blog

Tonight we had amazing jalapeno bison burgers [cooked on a skillet] served open-faced over Popeye bread. That bread is just incredible!! So was the cheese on top.

IMG_1075-2Blog

Karen’s cole slaw on the side [sorry, no time to gather recipe info – maybe Karen will post in the comments!?]

IMG_1077-2Blog

And roasted bataters

IMG_1076-2Blog

IMG_1079-2Blog

After dinner I tasted some hazelnut brittle coming soon to OpenSky. Holy hazelnuts – best. brittle. ever!

IMG_1070-2Blog

Matt’s in bed. I’m going to bed because I’m opening the store tomorrow and then HOPEFULLY slipping away for Body Pump!!

The food looks great, too, but what really catches my eye in the photos is the ketchup. I like a little food with my vat of ketchup. It’s high in lycopene I hear 🙂
