Berry Doughy

IMG_2155Blog

Gosh was this Dough Boy Smoothie INCREDIBLE!!!! I topped it with berries galore, which were all on sale at Whole Foods. I vouch to spend lots and lots of money on berries while they are affordable and in season this year to get my fill! I will no longer have guilt buying them, and I plan to get a pint of each flavor every week until they are gone! Berries are most definitely my favorite fruit!

IMG_2147Blog-2

It tasted like melted strawberry cheesecake ice cream! Just look at that fluffy texture!

IMG_2152Blog

IMG_2154Blog

On the side: cool coffee + choffy blend!

I’m off to make DINNER (!), then to Body Pump then to the bakery for lunch and onwards.

Personally, I'm in a strawberry frenzie right now. I just put them on EVERYTHING. I actually got the idea of putting them into salads from your blog! Thanks 🙂

Amy – I’m addicted to Ball jars, so just thought I’d add my .02. I make OOIAJ all the time, and the jars (w/ lids of course) are perfect for this. I, too, have to schlep my breakfast to work with me, so this has been tested again and again!
I get my Ball jars at various places… a local independent hardware store… Walmart also has them (hate to plug them – but they do)… as does LOWES as Kath said. Amazon.com also carries them sometimes, and even Target carries a few of the smaller sizes.

I love them, and think they are definitely worth the $$ (which isn’t much, all things considered).

Mmm, I love berries too–eating a bowl of cereal with blueberries as I type this! But even at their cheapest, berries are still too expensive for us to buy… so I have to make do with the frozen version. Still delicious, and I don’t have to worry about using them up before they go bad (though I doubt that would be a problem anyways, lol!)

Have you thought about blending some cream cheese into your smoothies? I beat that would give it a real rich cheesecakey flavor!

I’ve really gotten into berries lately too. I need to get to our local produce stand to get some blueberries that I can freeze. Earlier in the year I found a bag of frozen blueberries from 2 years ago. They had to be because I didn’t freeze any last summer. I was worried to use them but decided I would. Put them in my oatmeal and they were as good as if they were fresh from the farm stand! Amazing! I need to stock up!
