Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood

Check out the purple crocus popping up!!

IMG_9230 (590x443)

Looks like spring out there, but feels like mid-winter!

IMG_9229 (590x443)

After I finished up work at home, I walked to the bakery. Took the long route as part of my workout. Pregtastic podcast in the ears!

IMG_9232 (590x443)

Just in time for a late morning snack, I discovered this incredible fruit pizza! I had 3 slivers throughout the course of morning + midday – the base is whole wheat and the fruit is nutritious too! Only sketchy part is that scrumptious sugar glaze : )

IMG_9233 (590x443)

Things have been steadily busy here, and I’ve been hunkered behind the computer screen working on our website update.

IMG_9240 (590x443)IMG_9238 (590x443)IMG_9242 (590x443)

Lots O chocolate is cookin’ today!

Lunch break came late since I had the pizza to tide me over.

IMG_9244 (590x443)

I combined the best of both worlds: our tofu sandwich with pimento cheese!! Funny that I don’t mind the veggies at all on our sandwiches. Maybe my palate is turning a corner?

IMG_9245 (590x443)

But the chocolate bliss bite I had after lunch was still the highlight of my day!

IMG_9246 (590x443)

Hope you have a LOVEly afternoon!

That fruit pizza looks delicious! I’ve never had a sweet pizza before, only the traditional savory. Those chocolate cookies look so soft and chewy now. I need something sweet. It is V-day after all 🙂

The crocus looks so pretty! We’ve had a mild winter in Ohio so far, but right now the ground is covered with snow and I’m afraid we’re a long way off from any spring flowers 🙁 I’ll have to live vicariously through your frequent walks!

Fruit pizza…how fun! Is the glaze lemony? That’s how I imagine it to be. Wow! crocuses at this time of year…and so many! They will truly be a delight to the eyes when they bloom! Waiting for my chocolate hit later in the day!

Fruit pizza, love that. We had tofu sandwiches today too, well kinda, they were wraps. Mediterranean style with hummus, cucumbers, olives, radishes, tomato, peppers, onions, and grilled tofu. They were totally loaded and outrageously delicious. I have yet to make a recipe for vegan pimento “cheese”, I have to work on that, it sounds too good not to try! Our dessert was not chocolate bliss, but, chocolate covered strawberries that I made with breakfast.

When I was pregnant it was the smell of cooking just about anything that made me feel sick, so hope the raw vegies work for you, hommus with carrot, cucumber, brocoli or cauliflower dippers (small and thin) would be worth a try.

It’s a cheese dip that is often made with mayo and pimentos. I like it with greek yogurt and just a touch of mayo. The recipe I use is Kelsey’s: http://bitesandbowls.com/2009/02/24/black-bean-burger-foreign-fries/
