Beans, Greens + Grains

Boy am I tired! I think I am still on Edenwald time 🙂 Early to bed, early to rise! I’ll be glad to get in bed early tonight though, because I’ve got an early start at the gym for my marathon day tomorrow.

This afternoon the husband and I took a walk to enjoy the weather. But it was WAY colder than I thought due to a friendly wind. Brrrr! We came home and got under some blankets on the couch to watch Arrested Development before dinner. We only have 3 episodes left until we finish the series 😥

Then we mustered the energy to cook and ended up with a really great dish.

Mustard Greens + Beans Quinoa in a Lemon-Tahini Sauce

Click here for the recipe page: Mustard Greens + Beans Quinoa.

By the way, you may have noticed that I finished all of my blog updates. The FAQ page has been updated, the Kath page consolidated, the Tribute to Oatmeal page moved to the front line, a Favorites page now houses the stores and blogroll (which you can also link to from the sidebar), and finally, the Real Food page is organized by category (including – finally – the video links). Hope it’s all more helpful!

I have another portion of this to have for dinner tomorrow night. Sorry to repeat, but it’ll be a great late-night quick dinner post-class.

IMG_0726 (768x1024)

On the side I had a small piece of toast with butta –

The baker brought home a Praline scuffin, and I had just enough of a bite to taste it.

Bedtime! (Or at least time to wind down…I’m not quite ready to sleep!)

Thanks for the updates on your blog updates!

My husband and I just finished the last episode of Arrested Development this past weekend. We’re so bummed! It was such a brilliant, hilarious show – don’t know why it was cancelled.

Well, we’ll just have to wait for the movie. They’re definitely doing it – so it’s something to look forward to.

    Who was your fave character?
Hard to choose…Buster and Gob had me in tears sometimes. And each character’s chicken dance…omg, hilarious! 🙂

Are you sad you’re almost done with Arrested Development? Everytime my boyfriend and I get into a show and watch all the dvds I get sad when it’s all over, not that I don’t watch the ones I love over and over.
    Love the dinner today!
Good Luck with your super long day tomorrow.

I wish our GH had scuffins, but sadly it is either scones or muffins. I wish they would mate already!

I’ve heard rumors of an Arrested Development movie. Fingers crossed!

Sometimes leftover repeat dinners can be great. I love a good leftover meal when it was something that I really liked the night before, and as a college student cooking for herself that’s a good thing since I tend to have leftoers a LOT.

I just bought tahini pasta a few weeks ago and have been looking for new and varied ways to use it so I think I’ll have to try this one.

Good luck with your endless day today!

Kath, I made this tonight for dinner, except I used wheatberries instead of the quinoa. It was excellent. Quick question though, how did you toast the seeds? I put them in the microwave for about two minutes, but they just got warm, not exactly toasted. Do you broil them in the oven? Thanks! Love the blog.

    Jasmine T,
Glad you liked it! I usually toast seeds in the microwave – just keep doing intervals of 30 seconds until they have an aroma, but I do think that toasting in the oven on a cookie sheet or in a dry skillet probably produces a better toast. Just keep your eye on them at all times.
