Beach Menu

Our family always has too many cooks in the kitchen. We begin planning our vacation menus the second dates have been reserved for a trip. Ironically, we often have the same meals every year at the beach: pizza, low country boil, tacos, and dozens of sandwiches for lunch. While this beach trip was a bit different than usual with a bachelorette dinner, rehearsal dinner, wedding day lunch, wedding reception and Sunday brunch in the mix, here are a handful of our beach meals.

Breakfasts

Eggs, toast, fruit, coffee (Nectarine season- wahoo!!)

French toast with sunbutter

Coach’s Oats with sunbutter and banana

Lunches

Potato chip, cheese, avocado + pickle sandwich

Roast beef sandwich with salad

Salad with a little of everything

Wedding day lunch spread:

Dinners

IMG_6727

First night: taco salad

Night Two: Bachelorette dinner (more tacos!)

IMG_6376

Night Three: Rehearsal dinner Southern specialties – they were all incredible, especially the corn + bleu cheese salad and cornbread!

Night Four: Wedding Reception deliciousness. Everything from smoked shrimp dip to brandy peach pork shoulder to flank steak and shrimp and grits. Larbs and Matt had two kinds of wedding cake: vanilla with raspberry Chambord and carrot cake. Both were incredible, and I had several slices with lots of icing!

Night Five: Matt Pizza Specialty

With Andouille sausage and mushrooms

And salad

IMG_6725

Night Six: Out to dinner at the new cantina, Delphina’s, for chips, margaritas and more tacos

Night Seven: Low Country Boil

Matt’s pizzas always look so delicious!

And your beach eats all look wonderful. I love beach eats. They’re always so refreshing when you come inside drained from the sun or go out to dinner after a fun, relaxed day. Vacations are the best… even if there was a little work involved since ya’ll had the wedding.

How can I have just eaten a full breakfast including a banana nutella crepe and want to dive into every pic like I haven’t eaten in 12 hours!? Looks like you had some delicious eats!

Your potato chip, cheese, avocado + pickle sandwich sounds REALLY interesting. When I’m at Subway, I tend to put chips on my sandwiches because, well, it’s yummy. But I’ve never thought about putting the four of those together. I’m really tempted to go out and buy all 4 of those (it’s the end of the week–there’s barely any food in the house!) and make one for lunch today!

My family is the SAME way. We are all about “What are we going to EAT?” instead of “What are we going to DO?” [Obviously what we are going to do is eat. ;)]

Looks like a whole lot of goodness…

Everything looks delicious and perfect for beach eating! Larbs ice-cream pie looks like a wonderful summer dessert – I tried to search on her blog for the recipe but sadly, no luck. Did she post it and if so, can you give us a hint on when or post title? Or maybe she’d be willing to share here? Thanks!

I’ve been looking for Coach’s Oats forever! (they don’t carry it here where I live.) Then miraculously, I found them at Costco yesterday. Needless to say, I bought a huge bag that will last me for a while! Can’t wait to try all of your oatmeal recipes!
