Awake + Hazed

Morning! It was so nice to wake up to a sparking house 🙂 I didn’t get to do yoga last night because I ended up talking to my mom on the phone for an hour. But I am going to hot yoga today with Kelsey!! Long time, no see or do!

I wanted a no-cook breakfast this morning so I made a yogurt mess –

IMG_9954 (1024x768)

  • 1 container of Oikos (couponed!)IMG_9948 (1024x768)
  • Handful blueberries
  • Half banana
  • Tbsp flax
  • Few tbsp Mix My Granola
  • Handful Quaker Oatmeal Squares
  • Tbsp malted barley
  • Drizzle Almond Haze compliments of VeggieGirl – Liz, it’s delicious!!!!!!

The only way I can get nut butters to drizzle about is with a knife. And it’s still hard to get it off! [That’s what she said.] Any other tips?

I put my portion on a small plate and nuke it for 10-15 seconds in the microwave and it melts it to make it drizzly.

Cereal and nut butter is SUCH a good combo! I think all nut butters are different when it comes to drizzling since they all have different textures. In my experience, natural nut butters are more runny than ones with added sugars/oils. Constant stirring helps too! 🙂

cooking spray helps honey slid right off of a spoon, so it might help with your nut butter dilemma as well.

    Hi Kath and everyone,

Hoping to get your thoughts, and unnoficial advice on something…a co-worker friend of mine went to her regular MD becuase she wanted to lose some weight, and he put her on a pretty restrictive diet along wiht diet pills…she wasn’t necessarily very overweight to begin with, but now she is so thin I can see her bones in her arms and chest…she looks almost skeletal, and I am worried about her health! She says she consumes 1200 calories a day, but I am a little skeptical.

I want to approach her gently with my concerns…but not sure how to go about it without offending her or upsetting her. Her son and her brother have shown concern and she’s not listening…also some people have made comments at work to her, which she shrugs off and seems offended by.

Any ideas??? Please let me know!

Great looking breakfast. I’m in the States visiting and I have some Oikos coupons waiting for me–very excited to use them! If you’re ever in the Dallas area, go to a grocery store called Central Market–I went this morning–it’s amazing! Like a Trader Joe’s, Fresh Market, and Whole Foods all in one!

    Christin S ,
That’s a tough situation. I’m not sure what I would do since I am not you, but it sounds like her health is at risk.

    Amanda ,

I love Oikos yogurt! Have you ever tried Cultural Revolution yogurt? It is my absolute favorite. It’s very low in sugar which is so nice because sometimes yogurts, even the plain ones, are full of sugar. Anyways you should try it sometime. I get it at Whole Foods!
