Appetite Paradise Lost

I spent most of Saturday afternoon working (just got on a roll!) so today I was able to take a few hours to catch up on my baby reading. I need to take this as seriously as I used to take my college reading, but it still feels like a luxury to read in the afternoon! Halfway through the Bradley book – in cobbler’s pose per the book’s recommendation!

IMG_0648

I read in the baby’s room to get in the spirit : ) [Note the “new” bouncer seat – a hand-me-down from a Cville Twitter friend!] The nursery really is such a nice room! It gets afternoon light and had the best view of the backyard in the house. I’m glad I’ll be spending more time in there in the months to come.

IMG_0649-2

Afternoon hunger hit and I had some milk with puffins and trail mix

IMG_0647-2

And then had a terrible time getting excited for this dinner 3 hours later. No appetite to be found!

IMG_0672-2

The No Bull Burger on top was delish- served with some melted sharp cheddar and ketchup!

IMG_0665-2

Underneath we had rice cooker quinoa (getting some good use out of my cooker again!) along with sauteed zucchini and freshly picked garden tomatoes!!!!!!!!!

Sadly, I left a lot in my bowl. Tomorrow’s lunch!?

OK, tonight it really does feel COOL outside. I am debating the air situation again! Tomorrow’s forecast looks awesomely cool!

I’m trying to get in college studying mode too with this personal training certification exam coming up! So out of practice.

Haha I’m so with you Allie! I’m studying for the GRE right now and it’s HORRENDOUS! I’m so out of hardcore study mode. Good luck with yours!

Hate when I spoil my appetite with an afternoon snack…though sometimes it’s so worth it. I’d say Puffins qualify there 🙂

Just bought some red quinoa for a dinner base this week! Can’t wait to make a bowl of deliciousness just like that meal!

I hate when I spoil my appetite – especially when there’s good food around to be eaten. That quinoa burger bowl looks incredible!

I’m taking a summer class and have about 1.5 mos off of work/traineeship so I have lots of down time. But I’m having trouble reading my assigned readings inside my house… so today I went on our large porch with a blanket. I got a decent amount done. Sometimes a change of scenery is necessary!

I’d gladly ruin my appetite for dinner with Puffins anyway…especially the peanut butter ones. 😉

Those tomatoes look soooooo good. I’m one of those weirdos who likes eating grape tomatoes straight from the container like they’re grapes. My mom thinks it’s so weird…but they’re delicious!

So jealous…garden tomatoes already? Dinner looks so goooood! The leftover quinoa and veggies would go nicely with some salading for lunch tomorrow!

I never did my reading in college! Also, I know everyone an their sister has told you about a bouncer or rocker in the nursery…but I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. We didn’t have any rocker (in the house at all) for the first month…when we went to visit our parents, we discovered that Anderson LOVES BEING ROCKED. In fact, it was the only way to soothe him during his five and six week fussy phase. I know you have rockers elsewhere in the house…but you might want to find a way to make one work in the nursery. We have one now…and it’s a godsend.

Hi Kath! I’m 30 weeks pregnant and have loved following your blog. It is very encouraging and makes me want to keep eating healthy! I’m a mom of one boy and will be having our second in September. I work full time so I’m absolutely in love with the Overnight Oats. Amazing!

Was wondering what books you are reading and enjoying for pregnancy/labor. Thanks!
