Acid Washed Oats

Good morning! I am happy to be feeling good this morning after a ton of good sleep last night.

I kicked off Sunday with a bowl of rockin acid washed oats! [Just discovered this effect in Windows Live Photo Gallery]

IMG_4342 (640x427)

The real version:

IMG_4340 (640x427)

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water, 1/2 banana, pinch salt, splash vanilla
  • 1 tbsp dried raspberries
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/4 cup Daisy cottage cheese
  • 2 tbsp wheatberries (YAY!)
  • Some crumbled ProBar, original
  • Spoonful Costco PB

IMG_4332 (640x427)

Stirring in CC + WB at the end

IMG_4335 (640x427)

IMG_4341 (640x427)

Half caf coffee that was weak because Matt made it for two

Today’s agenda is actually pretty wide open!! I have a handful of things to do, but I also have most of this week open to do them, so I can spread out the time. For exercise we’re thinking a combo of walking, sports and yard work. I’d like to do yoga too, but I’m not sure if I have the patience. Ironically.

Rock on!

Are you still feeling as into yoga as you used to be? I find I go through stages with it.

    Enjoy your Sunday!

Hm. I find when I don’t want to do yoga is when I need it the most. Just some yogi food for thought.

    Have a great day!

I was very curious about what acid washed oats were! Sounded pretty gross, haha! 😉

I just started a yoga/pilates challenge for the month of October. I have to do it every other day for the entire month and if I stick with it, I’m rewarding myself with either a facial or massage. It’s the only way I can motivate myself to do it!! And if I fail, I’m donating my facial or massage to a fellow teacher.

    Have a lovely Sunday!!

I’ve never tried yoga, I may try a lesson or two when I feel more comfortable at the gym. Have an awesome day! 🙂

    Hey Kath,
I was wondering, what photo editing software do you use? I assume your camera gives you very large pictures, and you have to resize them. Do you do it in batches?

I hear you….when I’ve done Yoga and am in a more Type A Exercise Mood, I’m thinking “Hurry up!!!”. Sort of defeats the purpose. 🙂

Haha I was wracking my brain trying to think of what acids you could put in oatmeal. Lemon juice? Vinegar? That’s such a cool photo effect – everything looks so vibrant!

What a neat feature on the camera! Probably not the best for food blogging, but it sure adds a nice effect. 😉

Sounds like a wonderful day ahead of you – enjoy it!

At first glance, I thought your spoonful of PB was a raw egg yolk in the acid washed picture!

I haven’t had the patience for yoga in quite sometime, although my body felt soooo much better when I was doing it. Sounds like you have a nice relaxing day/week ahead of you!

    Kath, I have two questions:
    1) when do you add chia seed when you cook the oatmeal? at the beginning?
    2) how long does wheat berries last in fridge once it’s cooked?

    Leah,
Yes, I’m going through a stage. I think it’s more fun in the winter when it’s cozy and cold. I’m in a going-to-a-class stage, but no one has been able to go.

    Seth,
Windows Live Photo Gallery. I shoot in 3000 resolution and resize to 640 – WLPG does it in bulk and it’s a great organization system.

    coco,
