A True Slider

I spent the afternoon unpacking our gifts and doing some laundry – all the new non-clothing items are washed, and I hope to get to the clothes when I have a full load. Baby clothes are so tiny that it’s going to take a lot of pieces to make a full load!

Thanks to trying all of the cupcake flavors this afternoon, I was full through to dinnertime. Then Matt and I made a simple meal to end the weekend. [Karen’s at a friend’s lake house for the night. She’s with us for about another week in general till she moves!]

We made No Bull Burgers for dinner – with melted white sharp cheddar, tomatoes and pickles.

IMG_1723-2IMG_1728

This was not easy to eat – the tomato made my bread slide right apart and I had a mess on my plate! Had to eat the rest with a fork.

IMG_1731-2

On the side – sautéed garden eggplant and okra seasoned with soy sauce and garlic gold nuggets.

IMG_1724-2

It’s getting coooooollllllleeeeerr!

IMG_1727-2

Going in for a triangle of watermelon for dessert!

I’m struggling with the laundry now that he’s here. I’ve washed so many partial loads already. I feel bad, but when you’re out of something like burp cloths- ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Indeed! At least the washers have an option for “small load.”

    Hey Kath,

I want to make your whipped banana oats…

On your tribute to oatmeal it says 1/2T of chia seeds and on your recipage it says 1T. Which one would you recommend?

    Thanks 🙂

Why don’t you just mix loads of laundry? Just use the same detergent on all the clothing, just keep the diapers separate!

The cooler weather arrived for us this weekend in the form of north winds and loads of waves! My boys couldn’t resist! Spent the weekend at the beach! Thankfully, they got their fill as the lifejackets they were wearing left them sore from all the rubbing. No more waves today to tempt them! Melted cheese looks so ooey gooey good! And the toasted bread…yum!

    Hi Kath,

I’m wondering about the Garlic Gold nuggets you mention a lot. I looked them up online, but I’m wondering if they’re really strong, and if they taste similar to garlic powder?

    Thanks! 🙂

Yeah, they are mild and roasted – won’t give you garlic breath!

I love having tomatoes in sandwiches, but sliding is always an issue for me, too! Either the bread slides off, or the tomatoes shoot out when I bite into it!
