After a peachy conference call…
We closed up shop and headed OUT! It was pouring rain, so I left my bike and Matt picked me up in the car. Our destination: A “welcome to Charlottesville” party for Faith’s sister, Cedar!
We enjoyed a few mid-week drinks
And munchin’ appetizers, including bread from GH!
Faith made…some Peruvian drink that I am sorry to say I don’t remember the name of. I SWEAR it was Tequila, but she says no. And that’s all the details I have!
We socialized
And them my camera was hijacked!
These cute kiddos took it for a joy ride (with Matt’s supervision) They came out with some pretty awesome photos!

I sipped on Basil Beer while I waited for the camera’s return
Soon enough we had fish tacos! Of course the Queen of Condiments did an excellent job filling the buffet with veggies and flavors
First Desert was a few of these:
Second dessert involved Wineberry Tarts, Eileen’s Raspberry Peach Crumble and GH goodies! I had one of each. It was one of those kinda nights.
And some Trader Joe’s chocolate covered salted almonds that won my heart
If only every Wednesday could be this exciting!!

YUM! Good fish tacos are the best, and those look outstanding!
Ok, I think I’m breaking down and getting the Open Sky deal.. too good to pass up!
Those fish tacos look like utter perfection? Do I spot some kind of delicious fruit salsa? My oh my!
Great pics by the kiddos… my faves are the one of Matt, and the half-eaten tomato w/the little girl. Both of them are great. So cute.
Faith’s get-togethers always look amazing.
~
what an awesome getaway! I want a welcome wagon like that when I move somewhere! Lol!
For a joy ride
i always feel like a kid when i hijack my husband’s canon 5D!
Looks like a wonderful (and delicious) get together!
Two Desserts?! Why didn’t I think I think of that?
Wow those wineberry tarts look so neat! And salty choc almonds sound DIVINE! I’ll have to keep an eye out for those on my next TJs run. Sounds like a fun wednesday, and glad the rain didn’t ruin the party – it poured here in DC too. Some kids have an eye for photography, huh?!
I bet it was Pisco! Pisco sours! Yum, but deadly!
I was going to say pisco as well. “Deadly” is right (but you’ll go down smiling!).
That’s what I’m thinking, they’ve got to be pisco sours. The danger is in pisco’s mixability, both in the amount of alcohol that can be concealed in one drink and the array of things you can mix it with- gotta love pisco!
with the ice, the liquor — i’m in agreement: pisco sours! sooooooo good, regardless of how deadly they are!
yes! i was going to ask if it was pisco. ever since hearing the song atacama disco by the salvadors, i’ve wanted to try it!
Definitely pisco! You could also make “Chilcanos” by mixing 1 part Pisco, 2 parts ginger ale (or tonic water) and lemon!
Glad you guys beat me to it! Yup, pisco is definitely fire water. Deeelish!
Mmmm, Chilcanos….:)
YES! That’s it!!
Oh boy, Pisco Sours are my absolute favorite drink!
So I totally died laughing at the first photo!
Adorable pictures from the kids
Your dinner looked like quite the spread but I have to admit the salted chocolate almonds would have won my heart too
Oof! My favorite fish tacos are the ones at The Cheesecake Factory– BEAST
What a lovely Wednesday with some adorable pictures! Midweek can always use a little party. ~.^ I love that dinner plate….
how delish!
All of that food looks delicious! And the kids did a great job taking pictures too!
I <3 fish tacos! ANd yours look simply delish! Great photos!
What a fun Wednesday..food looks great!
Red looks great on you. Enjoying all foods in moderation, fresh air and staying busy apparently works for ya – your skin just glows! – bottle that and sell it please!
You guys seriously have the best parties! I’ll take a wineberry tart please
What is the recipe for basil beer? My boyfriend has recently started brewing!
It’s complicated. If you would like to email Matt he might be able to send it to you: mamonson at Gmail dot com.
Yum what a great mid week dinner. Love the little tarts.
I love weeknight parties.
I mean… as long as I still get to bed, and don’t make the next weekday miserable.
Even just grilling outside and sipping red wine feels so decadent mid-week. Happy summer! I love watching the seasons change in Charlottesville!!
Fish tacos are perfect for summer! Almost as perfect as kolsch is for the summer!
Wow! Those fish tacos look amazing! And I love your dress!
Looks like a perfect Wednesday evening! And love the T.J.’s chocolate covered almonds too!
Summers are awesome way to spend outdoor, eating and sipping with loved ones. Here’s hoping the weather wouldn’t deteriorate further in Florida. It’s scorching!
Looks like a great time! I’m a little jealous…
HA. Peachy. Look at you making puns!
Ohmygosh, i can’t even identify what’s on your plate!
Wow. Nobody touches my camera. NOBODY. My 10 year son is not allowed to breath on it. You are very, very nice.
Everyone should have a mid-week party of some sort

I wish my Wednesday was that exciting! Looks fun
Wineberry tarts? I want that recipe!
Berry Tarts from the recipe page of http://www.gracefulfitnessblog.com
They are sugar-free, whole grain DELICIOUS!
Thank you!!! They look fantastic!
I LOVE those TJ’s almonds. I always have a container of them at my desk.
What an awesome meetup/event for you all!
And you are BRAVE to let your camera be hijacked by some kids! Just earlier today I posted that I cannot stand having people touch my stuff, i.e. the movers that moved me in were not allowed to touch my camera or computer! I brought those over in my car in advance!
The food all looks..awesome! and so do all you ladies!
hi kath,
for sure those are pisco sours, a *VERY* potent combination of the liquor pisco and egg whites. it’s the national drink of Chile though (not Peru) — although it’s common across the region.
WTF; it’s totally Peruvian, search Google yo!
Apparently both countries lay claim to the pisco sour, but my vote is with Peru since the brandy gets its name from Pisco, Peru where it is made! Either way, every restaurant in Peru serves them and they are delicious!
It’s an age old disagreement between the two countries in regards to who gets to claim the origins of Pisco. I first tried it in Chile in 2000 but then I lived in Peru for a year so I think my loyalty lies with the north.
It’s really a silly argument between neighbors, their piscos taste the same and it is totally the national drink of both countries.
Faith and Cedar? Such pretty names!!
I think there should always be two dessert courses
The more dessert the merrier…thas all I’m saying
Love your dress!
Kiddos always have a neat photography perspective!
Such a beautiful backyard dinner party!! We are having friends over this weekend and I was planning on making fish tacos. Love the idea for a dinner party.
Cedar…what a cool name!!!\
It’s funny because my next post is going to involve pictures my daughter took!
Those tarts look amazing. My sister makes similiar looking ones with strawberries and mascarpone cheese… I could eat a whole tray of them, they’re so good
Those Trader Joe’s almonds are like crack. I can never stop eating them!
This looks like such a fun night and a perfect way to spend a Wednesday – Faith and her sister look SO much alike!!
My nieces have a habit of hijacking my camera but usually it’s pictures of people’s heads cut off and of just blackness so those kids did a way better job, haha.
Cedar, what an AWESOME name. I love it. Also love that taco salad meal of yours… I think I crave spanish food 24/7.
first dessert/second dessert reminds me of hobbits’ first and second breakfast!
looks like a great dinner party!
Wow, what a delicious dinner! Everything looks amazing! Those kids are so cute!
Haha, I love your first dessert and second dessert. It sounds like a hobbit’s way of eating!
What a fun night!
I get tacos for lunch today when I go out with my coworkers – I’m SO excited and your pictures are making me wish x10 that 1 pm would hurry up and get here already!
My nieces and nephews are always stealing my camera! They end up with the funniest, knee-height, pictures! Cute dress, btw.
Looks like a fun night!
I’ve never had a pisco sour, but my sister (almost a complete non-drinker) had them in Peru and loves them. I’m skeptical.. don’t they include a raw egg?

They are usually made with a tiny (1/4 tsp?) bit of egg whites to add a creaminess and frothly top. I skipped the egg last night out of laziness. I was a little skeeved about the egg when I first started drinking them in Peru but I got over it fast, it’s a tiny amount and not that different than eating an over easy egg.
was definitely the most exciting Wednesday night I’ve had for awhile
I love fish tacos. Especially when they are made with tilapia. Mmm hmm!
