BBQ Baked Tofu
Homemade BBQ sauce:
- About 4 tbsp ketchup
- About 1 tbsp cider vinegar
- 2 dashes Worcestershire
- 3 tsp brown sugar
- Dash garlic salt
- Pinch red pepper flakes
- Pinch salt
Heat sauce in the microwave in a prep bowl for 30-60 seconds to incorporate flavors.
Tofu:
Cut a large block of firm tofu (such as Trader Joe’s) in half and cut that into 3 slices.
Pressed under paper towels and heavy cutting boards for 20 minutes.
Cover with sauce on top and bottom of each slice.
Refrigerate for a few hours until time to bake.
When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350*, put pan in cold, and bake for 20 minutes.
The clumps are caramelized sauce scraped from the pan
Each block is about 110 kcal with sauce.

I’m always looking for healthy recipes and I have never tryed tofu before, but this looks tasty.
I don’t bake it. Here’s what I do:
Drain the water from the package. Freeze it. Thaw it. Press it. Cook it. You can marinate it for about 20-30 minutes, but you really don’t need to. Overnight, IMO, is way too long. If you freeze and press tofu, its soaks up stuff like a sponge! Freezing it for at least 24 hours will change the texture. You can even store tofu in the freezer, as it will be good for months.
This looks wonderful! Im a tofu addict… and sadly not very good at preparing it .

I am in the process of fixing it… Sorry
