Younger Hunger

Some mornings I wake up with a purpose – a run, heading right in to work, AM yoga – and food can wait. I usually do want to have a snack and some water, but it’s not like I have to eat immediately or I’ll die.

Like it was today.

I couldn’t wait – I just had to have breakfast.

IMG_4404

Could it have been the thought of a loaf of High Five! in our “kitchen” that was psyching me out!? Because that’s all my stomach could think about.

IMG_4409

I toasted some in our Homewood Suites toaster (yessss!) and used a Homewood Suites real plate (yesss!) and a real knife to mash in a banana (wheee!). Plus some Justin’s Chocolate Hazelnut Butter in a to-go packet and a little Hail Merry grawnola on top

IMG_4405

The coffee wasn’t bad either! Had to drink it black though.

Back to bread!

When I wake up, I have some water first, but then my next thought is “what is for breakfast?” Very rarely do I not eat something right away.

A hotel with a toaster? That is awesome!

This used to be my morning routine: Wake up, run 4-8 miles without so much as a drink of water, shower, get ready for work, commute for at least 40 minutes, THEN eat a huge corn muffin and drink a massive black coffee. I didn’t have an eating disorder; that was just how I structured my day.

This is now my morning routine: Wake up, tend to three kids, eat something that HAS to involve a little bit of protein (oatmeal, PB on toast, sometimes an egg) and drink coffee with cream. This seems much more sane!
