Windblown & Squiggled

IMG_1310

We REALLY lucked out on the weather today!!! What was supposed to be 50% chance of rain turned out to be gorgeous sunny skies! I think I need to stop looking at the forecast so much..

We enjoyed more beach time

2012-05-27 15.23.10

I’m alternating between this book and 50 Shades. You guys were right – 50 Shades is really corny. I’m 75% through my free sample of the first few chapters and am going to give it a bit more before I decide if I’m going to download it or not.

2012-05-27 15.33.27

I had a lot of fun watching the cutest little boy play with his mom on the beach :  ) Can’t imagine what it will be like to have a child at the beach.

2012-05-27 15.51.35

Showertime!!!

IMG_1306

We all headed out tonight – first to the local tiki bar

IMG_1308

Which is out on a pier above the beach!

IMG_1309

Drinks for all

IMG_1311

Smack dab in the middle of mojitos and rum runners was my club soda + lime

IMG_1314

Landm

IMG_1315 IMG_1329

Then we headed out to dinner at Havana’s, which is breezy and outdoors

IMG_1330

The dinner was good, but we waited 1.5 hours for our food, so there were moments of this:

IMG_1332

Crab dip tided us over

IMG_1333

Along with a few of these (I was starved!)

IMG_1335

And finally some of this:

IMG_1334

And then finally our deluxe seafood platter arrived. Karen and I split this combo of fried shrimp and oysters, fries, curried crab cake and slaw. It was tasty, but I couldn’t decide if I was full or hungry!

IMG_1338

We ended our night with our final out-on-the-town destination: Squiggly’s Ice Cream

IMG_1340

I had a heath bar in a cone – tasty!

Squiggly

It caused the baby to squiggle inside : )

Your photos of seafood make me so jealous because I’m allergic to crustaceans and your photos of shrimp, crab cakes and the previous dinner with shrimp and crab made me really hungry! I only became allergic a few years ago so I still remember what they all taste like–especially crab, as that was one of my faves.

Oh how I wish I was there eating crab dip! Not sure if Bluewater or Oceanic are still around (I’m sure they are) but sitting outside and having a drink and watching the sailboats go by and noshing on crab dip was a favorite Fri nite passtime at Bluewater, circa 2001. Wow, a decade later. Memories 🙂

e-books. While i love a beautiful book cover, I have always complained about holding a book while I read. The e-books are great because you don’t have to hold a heavy book and even better at night when you can lie on your side and not hold it. And I love knowing the percentage I’ve read and easy bookmarks.

I always say that on the Weather Channel, online weather forecast, or the news, they should reference three words at the bottom of the screen: Weather Subject To Change! — because the weather forecast is usually not right 🙂 Anyone can go outside and predict what the weather is going to be like 🙂
