When Country Comes To Town

Foodblog (1 of 8) this !

^^Outside playing in our gorgeous late-summer weather!

I have a group of friends who love country music, and we jump at any chance to go to a concert. Wednesday night Cole Swindell was here, so we put on lots of eyeliner and our boots and made a ladies night out of it.

Foodblog (6 of 8)

Lyns and I had dinner at Citizen Burger first. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Cville – they use all grass-fed beef and while I waited for Lyns to arrive I read the whole menu back on why grass-fed beef is the best choice. While i knew most of the info, Citizen worded it so well. If you can squint, read this!

Foodblog (3 of 8)

I had a honey lager while I read –

Lyns and I shared the shishito peppers. I hadn’t had these at Citizen before, but the sauce on top was IN-credible!

Foodblog (4 of 8)

For dinner I had a classic burger (rare!) with jalapeño jack cheese, jalapeños, pickles, tomato and ketchup. I’m sort of a classic burger girl – not into fancy stuff except sometimes avocado and pimento cheese. Although I’ll admit, I’ve never had a lobster burger. Also: the Citizen sweet potato fries are the BEST EVER!

Foodblog (5 of 8)

The show was great – Cole is a wonderful entertainer! He played all of his hits from his album, but also many songs from folks like George Straight, Tim McGraw and Florida Georgia Line (songs he wrote for them!) We had a blast!

Foodblog (8 of 8)

Of course the highlight was the encore long version of “Ain’t Worth The Whiskey” : ) Shows at The Jefferson are the best! Standing dancing room only.

Foodblog (7 of 8)

I got up at 5:30 the next morning for my favorite class – but surprisingly I wasn’t too tired the rest of the day. Plyo Max was great, and I’m so glad I went. That class is like an addictive drug!

We had a fun rest of the day – we met friends at the spray park / playground in the morning and celebrated a friend’s birthday in the afternoon with cupcakes!

Foodblog (1 of 3)

For lunch I had sardine salad made with carrots, peppers and capers and allthechips!

Happy Weekend!
