What We’ve Been Eating

^^Not your typical Downtown Mall on a warm spring night 🙁

And this is definitely not how Thomas would normally dress for a date.

Zocalo x2

We strolled downtown with Birchie to pick up Zocalo for dinner. Yep, we HAD to do it again! The two-for-$25-with-a-side deal is too good to not do twice. And that cilantro buttermilk sauce? GAH I want to swim in it!

While we ordered the pepper for night one, we ordered the salmon for night two. This was actually quite the efficient takeout order because it lasted is 2.5 nights! We saved sauce for the salmon, and I made a kale salad with carrot ribbons and homemade sesame dressing to round out the meal.

And the last little stop we made while downtown was some Splendora’s Gelato!! If you’re wondering how we ordered, we called the number on the door and placed the order over the phone (including credit card payment) and then she prepared our order and left it on a table outside. When she was back inside, we wiped it down and put it in our stroller. We got three flavors and a few cones too! Enjoyed on the porch on a warm evening.

Pizza Night!

T-daddy’s speciality. He had a helper this time.

Taco Night

I’m sorry to be so boring, but we have pizza night and taco night every week! It really helps to simplify the meal plan, and they are two meals that Mazen says “Yessss!” to when I tell him what’s for dinner. I made crunchy tacos instead of a salad this week for a change. Roasted zucchini on the side.

Plenty Stir Fry!

Cabbage, carrots, zucchini, peppers, beef and pork. That’s one satisfying bowl!

Lunch Salad

First, kale with leftover Birch food – lol! Sweet potatoes, corn he didn’t eat, and even some chicken tender.

Green Monster

Green tropical smoothie. I am loving the Naked Nutrition Vanilla protein – it makes smoothies taste like melted ice cream!


Butterscotch Oatmeal

Mazen uncovered some butterscotch chips in our baking basket (I believe he was looking for sweets!) and we both enjoyed them over oatmeal for breakfast.

Hope ya’ll are eating well, doing well, feeling well, etc…!

    love your homemade pizza, looks so delicious! whenever I don’t know what to make, i make salad for the kids, always hit spot.

    If you are boring, we are too! We’ve had weekly taco and pizza nights for years and it’s been great. It simplifies planning and yet gives us plenty of flexibility. There are lots of types of tacos and pizza. And my kids are always happy on those nights.

    That pizza looks amazing! Do you have a favourite recipe for the crust? Also, do you like Naked’s whey protein or the pea variety?

      I am loving the vanilla whey by Naked. It makes my smoothies have a melted ice cream fluffy texture! And we use Whole Foods’ pizza crust.
