What Has Four Legs And Flies?

This trip!

We just landed in Missoula after a 5am taxi ride, 4 hour delay, 7 hours in the air and many in airports. Now we are waiting for the hotel shuttle. So glad to see my duffele!

And its only 20 degrees! Not too.cold! Although the high later this week is 6. Not sure I’ve ever been in that low a temp before!

Glad to be here [finally!] and looking forward to a hot shower and cozy bed!

And a high of 6??? I’ve never heard of such a thing! I know I wouldn’t be able to handle it.

A warmth tip from Canada – I find that there’s a pretty direct relationship between the temperature of my extremities (ears, fingers & toes) and how chilled I feel. Keep your ears covered, your fingers in mitts (not gloves!! big difference!), and keep your feet warm and dry.

On keeping your feet warm & dry, my tip is this. It might seem like a hassle, but be sure to switch between indoor shoes&socks and outdoor shoes&socks – if you wear big boots and cozy socks indoors, your feet sweat, and then when you go back out the sweat freezes and you’ll have cold wet feet. Keep your feet from sweating indoors and that will keep them warmer when you’re outdoors….hope that makes sense 🙂

Have a great time at sandwich school!!

Also being from the land of -40 (F), Keeping your core warm does help with the extremities, I used to have a crappy coat, but when I got a giant down parka, I found my hands and feet didn’t get as cold!

I thought of you while watching the weather report tonight (our news station also reaches Missoula, so we get their weather too). I hope the temps don’t get too bad for you! Luckily L.L. Bean makes great products, so your cute new coat should keep you warm. If all else fails the Big Sky Brewing Company isn’t too far down the road 😉

What a day! Enjoy your training it sounds like a fun adventure! Do you mind me asking water coconut water you have used in the past. COuld you use it like a gatorade. I took your advice on the sports drink and it has helped! I just wanted something a bit more natural i think? or maybe it is not the same thing.

I’ve found that there reaches a certain temperature when it doesn’t matter how much colder it gets because it all feels the same after a while. Until it goes under 0 and/or gets windy, and then it’s an entirely different level. Brr…

Have fun and stay warm!!! 😀

Gosh , you guys are amazing.
    I know you have a busy life…and I hate to ask this…but thought I’d take a risk…so,
A quick question (I admire you very much). I’m gonna start a blog. Not title jumps out…I’ve narrowed it to “A Cozy Place” or ” Life Actually”. Or maybe “stories and tea” or something…those don’t “do ” it for me, but am stuck.
I kind of need a place to be open about dealing with some physical setbacks…but I also want a grateful, positive, thankful place…and a “magical” kind of place ….I like stories, reading, writing, passions like those, tea, etc. Any thoughts on those 3 above? Nay or yay or stronger liking toward one.
    Thanks muchly. Luv your blog.
