Weights & Crab Cakes

Live blogging this afternoon to report that 1) I just had a crazy hard workout and 2) There is a new food truck in town!

I met KERF reader Jill at ACAC for BFF month and gave her a tour. She’s new to town and might join! I took her to strength class and killed my muscles as usual. My shirt is a shade darker here than it was when I walked in! {Secret message: Hi Meg!}

Foodblog (1 of 1) this !

My poor hands are not liking the kettlebells so much…

On our walk home I noticed a new food truck parked outside of the Wells Fargo building –

The menu was packed with yummy seafood! I don’t normally have my wallet at the gym, but I had stopped into the bank on the way there and just happened to have cash on me. Score! Gotta try one of the po-boys next.

Foodblog (2 of 4)

You had me at crabcake salad. Loved the sugar snaps inside too. Also got an order of sweet potato fries to share with M.

Hit the spot!

The end.

    Fries and crab cake look awesome!!! My hands are in bits from kettlebells. I tried using gloves but I can’t grip the bells properly!

    I’ve been wearing these gloves for a few years now in my strength classes. Comfortable, full range of motion, good grip and make working out much kinder to my palms. They run big – I wear a small. http://www.sportsauthority.com/product/index.jsp?productId=13178279

    I personally would not wear gloves with kettlebells, just take care of your callouses with lotion and/or a file. If you do get a rip, take a break!

    I tend to take my wedding ring & engagement ring off with kettlebells because the pinching hurts. That may help?

    Weight calluses are the best 😉 They elevate you to beast status!

    You’ll build kettlebell calluses over time. as you work up to the 35lb for sure 🙂

    When I was a rower we got crazy bloody calluses all the time. We always used super glue to seal them up and prevent the calluses from opening. Totally still use the trick! Painless.
