Twas Days Before Christmas

Foodblog-1288

‘Twas days before Christmas and all through the house…

Foodblog-1278

I got French toast cooking; home with no spouse.

With banana and Nutty Butter {Egg Nog!} and sprinkles as dots,

Foodblog-1286

And a mug of rich coffee, splash of milk on top.

Foodblog-1275

The children were all nestled all snug in their beds, while I showered and dressed and ensured they were fed.

image

When out of my phone there arose such a clatter, I answered right away to see what was the matter.

Foodblog-1308

“The bakery has pizza!” my husband did say; I’ll be there in 30. I was on my way

Foodblog-1290

When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and three tiny rein-bears (and a llama)

IMG_4659 (640x427)

On Bocker, On Beaker, On Churton and Llamey,
Come Mazen, there’s pizza! Said the mommy

Foodblog-1306

We dashed to the bakery, which was filled with cheer

Foodblog-1304

And dug into the pizza, cheese far and near

Foodblog-1291

Foodblog-1292

Down to my belly 3 slices came with a bound

Foodblog-1299

So glad daddy was hangin’ around!

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

Foodblog-1296

And Alex’s clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot!! Winking smile

Foodblog-1303

A mug of Pero when I got back,

Foodblog-1313-2

And cereal with yogurt I had for a snack!

Foodblog-1315-2

The restaurant twinkled. At Mas, how merry!

Foodblog-1323

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

Foodblog-1318

A wink of my eyes and a twist of my head,

Soon I knew that I would eat bread!

Foodblog-1327

And clams and salad and carne asada

Foodblog-1328Foodblog-1326Foodblog-1330

With kale and fiery tomatoes, of which we loved a lotta

Foodblog-1332 Foodblog-1337

And laying a finger aside of my nose,
And giving a nod, bacon dates we chose.

Foodblog-1339

We walked home in the cold, with barely a light,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

They seem to be hard to catch (they were on the Mas menu as “long awaited”). This tells more about growing on Cape cod: http://www.capecodextension.org/Marine-Programs/Other.html

Merry Xmas to you, Mazen, and Matt! I absolutely love your food blog. I stumbled upon your blog about 6 months ago. I am now totally addicted to reading your posts every morning with my healthy breafast – oatmeal. Thanks for sharing your family with us – your beautiful boy Mazen, your husband Matt, your awesome parents and wonderful grandmother. I am a foodie to. Plus I retired from my bakery business a year ago. It is nice to see what Matt is baking. My husband & I will have to take a trip from Northern Virginia to GH for the delicious pasteries and baked goods after the holidays. Thank you for speading the word of eating healthy. Love your videos. May 2013 be filled with great health and happiness for you and your family.

You have inspired us this year and we are thankful to have found your blog. Thank you for leading us to do our own blog out of loving what you do!

We headed home from Snowshoe on Saturday and were passing through with just enough time to run by the bakery and get lots of bread so we can try all the amazing bread and french toast we read about on your blog all the time :). Apple Scrapple french toast is coming our way in the next day or two! We decided to call and reserve all the loaves we wanted because we wanted to make sure they weren’t sold out…..and Matt answered the phone so cheery and nice!

Happy Holidays and we look forward to continue to follow you in the 2013 🙂
