Today’s Menu

Good morning boys and girls.

Today’s menu features a green smoothie in a bowl topped with granola and your choice of toast with sunflower butter or pumpkin oatmeal served with juice, milk or coffee.

And now for your weather forecast: today will be sunny with a high of 47*.

Please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance…..

this !

I took the green smoothie off the line. It’s a winner!

  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 kale leaves
  • 1 big handful spinach
  • 1/2 tbsp flax
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 packet Chocolate Amazing Meal
  • With Mix My Granola on top

IMG_5609 (640x427)

I kept the smoothie lighter (omitting oats + cottage cheese possibilities) and had a slice of High Five Fiber on the side with Cinnamon Vanilla Sunflower butter.

IMG_5614 (640x427)

I am so loving this stuff. The sunflower has this realllllly nutty taste, and the cinnamon + vanilla flavors make it like dessert.

SPOOKY GHOST!!!

Can you BELIEVE today is my last day of foodservice!? So sad. Yet so happy. About to make this hour commute for the last time. Really the commute hasn’t been bad at all. I’ve loved my podcasts and the time to myself. But what really sucks is the TWO whole hours that just disappear from my day. My next rotation doesn’t begin until 9AM!!!!!!!!!! And it’s only 10-15 minutes away. Holy cow. I might go back to morning workouts for those 3 weeks.

Headed out at 6:30 for the final time!

So I’m thinking about trying that sunflower butter….I am a HUGE PB person and I’m just starting to get into AB but I find it to be a little gritty and a little bit of a transition. What is the texture like on the SB? Also, I like my nut butters a little sweet so I think this would be a good one for me to try. What are your thoughts? Oh…and I LOVE you blog! Keep up the good work!

Based on your description, I think you’d LOVE it! The texture is slightly gritty – but more from sugar than from the sunflower, I think. It’s a little sweet and very creamy and nutty!
