The Great Vacuum

Today has felt so productive!

Lots of cleaning.

Lots of tax doing.

And I went to BodyStep in the middle! I’m getting braver with my group exercise. The thought of bouncing around aerobically for an hour sounded more appealing to me than other forms of exercise (perhaps to contrast the dreary rainy day?) so I hit up the 3:45 class.

It was powerful!! The instructor, Erin, who teaches BodyStep at my gym has more energy than any group ex professional I have ever seen! The class was lots of fun – and I worked up a sweat! Unusual for me and group ex.

I came home and sipped on this guy while I waited for Matt to come home to start dinner

IMG_3338Blog-2

Which is about the time I got sucked into the great tax vacuum.

Lucky for me, Matt was happy I was working on them and made dinner for the two of us

Asian Tofu Noodles

IMG_3343Blog

Whole wheat egg noodles topped with sautéed sugar snaps (they were on sale at WF!), mushrooms and roasted Twin Oaks tofu – shitake garlic flavor. He sauced it all up in tamari (like soy sauce) and Garlic Gold oil. Sriracha for the top – plus some salty peanuts!

IMG_3346Blog

IMG_3341Blog

I promise there were noodles under there!

IMG_3348Blog

I was so involved in the taxes that I skipped dessert. Imagine that!

For some reason I don’t ever want to go to group exercise alone. If I have a friend, I’ll totally go but I don’t like going by myself! Nice job on the tax work. I’ve got another year as a student until I have to start doing stuff like that. I’m not that thrilled about it!

We got a Shark vacuum a few months back and it’s freaking awesome. I enjoy vacuuming and especially love that you see all the dust pickup and that it’s not a mess to “release!” It has some awesome attachments, especially one for getting dog hair off the couch. I vacuum about twice a week because I love filling up the container with dust + dirt!! hahaha Those look like tofu croutons!!

I saw that someone else asked about BodyCombat – the BEST! I’m glad you’re starting to enjoy the group ex. I especially love them (BodyStep, Pump, Combat, Flow) for days I’m not feeling super motivated to go to the gym…I know once I’m in there, I’ll have a good time, and I’ll stay for an hour! I enjoy working out on my own or with my hubby, but group exercise is invaluable to me for the fun/motivation aspect – and I LOVE Zumba (we have the best instructors – www.zumbachicas.com). Happy Monday!

Kath, it would be great if you could do a post on meal planning and grocery shopping strategies! I always wish I could be a more effective meal planner and use groceries more wisely. I often buy ingredients for one recipe but then the leftovers get wasted if I don’t incorporate them into something else. I’m sure you have tips 🙂
