Storm Brewed

Thar she blows!

IMG_1465

Nobody slept well here. Rain at the beach combined with the surf and wind is so much louder than rain at home! I was awake from about 4-5:30 with irregular plonks against our balcony windowsill that kept jarring me awake. Matt is still asleep!

IMG_1461

I stumbled down before 9 and made cereal and coffee. Puffins with blueberries and banana plus peanut butter. I love the regular puffins so much more than peanut butter!! They are smaller, crunchier and stay firm longer in milk.

IMG_1464

We have had some sunshine pokes, but I don’t think Beryl is expected to completely move out until later this afternoon. Hoping to squeeze in a walk at some point today!

I haven’t tried the PB Puffins since I’m allergic. Everyone says it’s the best, so I feel left out (thanks for making me feel better). I think Multigrain is the most delicious. I hope the skies clear up for you.

I’ve tried all the flavors and think the cinnamon is best! Don’t know if you’ve tried those, but if it’s any consolation, they’re awesome 🙂

Yikes! Well at least the weather has been pretty decent for the majority of your trip. I think storms at the beach are so much more fun to watch than ones at home. Hopefully you get a little more sun before you guys fly back to Cville!

I grew up on the water and love the sound of the waves crashing in on the shore…it actually lulls me to sleep! Of course watching a storm come across the water is so amazing…especially when it skirts us! One time we were eating dinner and we could see the storm coming right at us across the water…suddenly the wind picked up and a tree branch came flying at us…even though we were inside we all ducked and dashed! So cool! Hope you are able to get out to enjoy some of the day!

You’re on Bald Head, right? I’d be pretty nervous on an island only accessible by ferry with a tropical storm, but I guess you’ve probably spent enough time there that you’re somewhat used to it.

Looks like overall you’ve had a great trip and enjoyed this pre-baby time!

The storms over the last few days have been CRAZY here! Like, all of the sudden the sky gets all dark and the wind is crazy- it POURS and then it’s gone. And then it’s back again in an hour! Last night my power went out for about 90 minutes… right at 6:15 when I put dinner in the oven. I was NOT a happy camper.
