Start Your Day With Whole Grains

Every morning I’ve had to get up early I have been up an hour before my alarm waiting for it to go off! Hopefully a healthy breakfast will get me through!

image this !

I’m attending the local Blue Ridge Dietetic Association meeting today, getting some learn in!

At the Virginia meeting, the breakfast was lacking a bit on the whole grains front, and I realized I could change that. I tracked down the head of the BRDA and asked if Great Harvest could donate bread for today’s meeting. Luckily they said yes!

image

I filled up on Cinnamon Raisin Walnut with a small piece of High Five smothered in Naturally Nutty and homemade jam! Fruit on the side (banana as snack?) with tea.

Might need seconds… Baby says so with some squirms!

Happy Friday!

You are AWESOME! Do you know how many people are going to appreciate the healthier option?!

The Mr was in a class 2 weeks ago and imbibed in a few too many Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and said it was nothing but crap foodwise from the cookies to gummy bears to cans of soda everywhere and everyone was griping about the lack of healthy options. So good on ya!

After seeing your melty cheese on bread the other day I bought some good cheddar and had cheese toast with homemade applesauce on top this morning. KERF approved? BTW, it tasted great.

Good thinking on your part – I’d probably have thought one step less further and just brought two slices for myself so you’re super nice to have thought of the whole group 😉

    Enjoy your learnin’!

Whole grain toast with nut butter is my favorite way to start the day. I love my bread, but I recently found out that it was best to always eat grains with some protein and fat because carbs by themselves will cause your body to release cortisol and want more sugar.
