Spread On The Grits

Not much has changed around here – Billis is firm on her morning breakfast perch!

IMG_9468

My mom found this Lotus Biscoff Spread – CRUNCHY – in her mailbox. I think the Biscoff people still have my home address! So this was a gift from them. But I gotta say, the crunchy may be the best yet! Rather than big nuggets, the spread has a gritty texture of little tiny bits of cookie. Heavenly!

IMG_9466

I also always feel the need to say this is not a health food! It’s just irresistibly delicious!

IMG_9467

For the nutritious part of my breakfast, I had a plain greek yogurt with banana and cinnamon

Hoping for a cup of tea soon!

I just said the same thing to my husband this morning about TJ’s cookie butter. He’s gone through a jar and a half in less than a week! Just because it looks like nut butter doesn’t mean it is! (really it’s just me trying to get him to save me some ;))

Ohhhhhh that cat. 🙂 Billis. That photo reminded me of something. I used to have this co-worker years and year ago, she was the sweetest older Mexican mamma. Always cooking and taking care of everyone. She used to say that when she’d meet an ugly baby she’d say “Oh! Look at that! Your baby is so healthy looking!” And it was so hilarious because she was really just the nicest person but that was kinda mean right? But funny too! Random story but that very happy cat reminded me. 🙂 Happy Sunday! Enjoy the day with your family.

I found crunchy Biscoff at The Fresh Market a few weeks back. I just scraped my cookie butter jar clean last night, so it might be time to pick up a jar!

I haven’t had Biscoff, but did get my first jar of TJ’s cookie butter about two weeks ago. I can’t wait until it’s gone. That stuff is dangerous and needs to not be in my house again! 🙂

Nutella and biscoff are so good! So is Speculos – I don’t know if they sell it in the US but I used to eat it every day with toast in Belgium.

Couldn’t help but notice the big ‘Easter Egg’ in the bowl on the table…I have a very similar one. The Easter Bunny left it for me full of chocolate…the chocolate is long gone but the beauty of the egg lives on…I display it every year!

I love the Speculous cookie butter from TJ’s but haven’t tried Biscoff yet. It has that nice gritty (sugar grit) feel to it when you lick it off the spoon. I need to find a single serving packet to try of Biscoff. Seeing your bread reminds me that I need to stop by GH and pick up some!

Your “THIS IS NOT HEALTH FOOD!” disclaimer reminded me of one of the first times I made myself lunch. I must have been pretty young, and I raided the pantry and found these little things called “health bites” and proceeded to use almost an entire bag of them on top of my peanut butter sandwich. After eating it all, I was so excited to show my mom how healthy I had been… until she pointed out that what I had eaten were HEATH bites, not health bites, and I had made myself a peanut butter and candy sandwich 🙂

        But different =)
Nutella is a nut butter (hazelnut) with cocoa, milk, palm oil & sugar added.
Biscoff (while delicious!) is just cookies (made into “butter”) – sugar, oil, flour
*Living in Germany we have totally come to embrace all things hazelnut!

I tried biscoff not long ago because of you. Lol. Last time I bought a jar
I kept it at work hoping I would be able to control myself. No such luck.
You know it’s really good when your coworkers ask what you’re eating
and have no qualms about dipping their spoons into your jar. Each one
of them rolled their eyes into the back of their head. Lol. And one
Proclaimed it was [email protected]#$%&* good!

I am sure that my husband would love that Biscoff spread. However, if it is too sweet, I do not think I could handle it.

i bought my first jar of (creamy) biscoff a couple of weeks ago and was worried because ppl kept telling me i would get addicted.. fortunately it hasn’t happened! (i must be weird or something haha)

although i’m pretty sure things would change if i tried the crunchy version…
