Sore

Ouch!!! I feel like I ran a half marathon yesterday. And I have no idea where the IB profin is! I slept hard until 5AM when I woke up with a mind racing with house ideas. I tossed and turned for an hour, uncomfortable, and then finally went downstairs to locate my eye mask to black out the sun.

Those things are a lifesaver – I was out hard for another 2 hours before we got up around 8:30. Our bedroom is so pretty in the morning with the light coming in 🙂

The oats got lost in the move!!!

Thankfully, Bob’s Red Mill saved the day:

New stove!! I know gas is supposed to be top of the line, but guys, I realllllly like flat-top stoves!! They are just sleeker and less tipsy and risky with flames.

IMG_8312 (427x640) (2)

Welcome home french press!!!!! As much as I love him, Karen’s coffeemaker was whispering in my ear how nice it would be to have a maker that is already brewing when you get up…I’m thinking about getting one!

IMG_8315 (640x427) (2)

Jess’s muffins had to be involved!

IMG_8316 (640x427) (3)

  • 1/4 cup 10 Grain mix
  • Splash milk
  • Lots of water
  • Half banana
  • Pinch salt, vanilla
  • Crumbled Banana Nut Muffin
  • TJs Sunflower Butter

IMG_8324 (640x427) (3)

My LOVE iced tea spoons!! Rosanna is my fav for the shape of the head 🙂

Front porch breakfast for two

WOW, people are getting nasty around here- ha! Calm down, I was offering Kath supplements- I work for a supplement company, dear. I’d assume she’d be interested in free natural supplements since she’s into healthy living. You’re just being reactive, anyway- ibuprofen, as a drug, has side effects and there are a lot of things you can take that are actually more beneficial in the long run- that actually help your body heal instead of merely masking symptoms.

Plus I hate how things can fall down into the space underneath the cooktop. I guess it’s good to know my preference for when I get my first house!

Throw a tortilla directly on top of the flame. Wait 8 second. Flip tortilla. Wait 8 more seconds. Perfection.

I used to have a programmable electric drip coffee maker, and while it was nice to have coffee waiting for me on early mornings, the quality and flavor of the coffee just didn’t live up to the french press. My ideal would be a gas top/electric oven combo. We’ve always had all gas, and the ovens tend to give off more carbon monoxide when they first light up as they get older (and by older, I mean a few years). I would definitely have a CO meter in your house, both because of the stove & if you have a gas water heater or furnace.

P.S. The morning light is beautiful in your pics!

“New stove!! I know gas is supposed to be top of the line, but guys, I realllllly like flat-top stoves!! They are just sleeker and less tipsy and risky with flames.”
^ Don’t worry Kath, you’ll only feel that way for a while. My mom was THE biggest skeptic when it came to gas stoves, we got one after my prodding and she LOVES it. Really, it makes cooking soo much easier!

I love gas stoves, but I do understand the sleek factor with the electric 🙂
Your new place looks great, hope the settling in goes well!

Kath, I’ve been a follower of your blog for a while now. You take the best food pics! I’m always in the mood for a snack after reading. Best wishes in your new home! I’ve been drinking Vitamin Water lately and some flavors can be a little sweet and syrupy so I add water too.

I have never been more sore than after my most recent move-in day when my roommate and I decided it would be a good idea to move my bedroom, her bedroom, the living room, dining room and kitchen ALL BY OURSELVES. I can only imagine how you feel today!! At least you have those delicious looking muffins to make you smile. 🙂

Gas stoves scare me..dont you have to light a match every time you fire one up? My aunt has one and I feel like I’m gonna blow the house up every time I heat up some soup. :/

It’s so nice how excited you are about getting all your stuff back, even though it’s only been a little while since you packed it up! I guess your crockery feels like family? 🙂

Kath, can you put pre-ground coffee in your french press? I always thought coffee needed to be specifically ground “coarse” for the french press so I was avoiding the new Starbucks flavors (since they are ground for a drip coffee maker), but I really want to try them!

Yes, I put anything and everything into my french press and it seems to work fine.
