Smooth + Chill

How about that football?! I have to admit, I didn’t watch the end of the game. We left the party shortly after halftime to get Mazen home to bed. As much as I don’t really care about sports, I sort of wish I had watched the whole thing! I hear the ending was pretty exciting.

Have you heard of The Skimm? It’s a daily email newsletter that condenses the world news into little parcels of information with touches of sarcasm and humor. I read The Skimm’s Superbowl recap first thing this morning and was filled in on the amazing pass and interception videos plus links to the notable commercials.

My favorite commercial was Best Buds with the puppy. SO cute and the music made it. And Katy Perry rocked it at halftime! Love her, and I thought the special effects were impressive. Mazen said “More big tiger!”

Last night was a free-for-all in terms of food and drink, so I woke up feeling rather sluggish. A smoothie was calling my name!

In the mix: 1 cup of frozen berries, 1 cup milk, half a banana, a spoonful of peanut butter and a handful of oats.

Since I had a long run yesterday and soccer tonight, I took the morning off of the gym. M and I did some arts and crafts at home (he loves to paint!). That smoothie did not hold me over very well, and I was starving for lunch. Luckily my neighbor sent me home with a bowl of chili and cornbread muffins last night, and I ate it alllllll! Probably more than I needed for lunch, but my appetite demanded it.

    I had oats in a smoothie for the first time yesterday and I couldn’t believe how good it tasted and the fact that I’ve never had it before! Definitely including in my normal repertoire.
