Oh Deer, Oh Dear

Guess where we went for dinnah!

IMG_8072Blog

More Lion’s Den love! And apparently all of Dillon was there too – and a handful of the GH staff! It was the happenin’ place to be.

IMG_8073Blog

We invited our other trainees out to eat and everyone was able to come. Even Mike the CEO joined our table tonight after a text message invite! I decided to take a night off of Moose Drool and stuck with water –

IMG_8075Blog

But I can’t promise I didn’t glug down half of Matt’s Pig’s Ass Porter! He was nice to share <3

IMG_8074Blog

We decided to share a dinner because we know from past experience that the PETITE steak here was still huge!

I had a side salad to start (so did Matt)

IMG_8076Blog

And we shared this monster steak – the Ladies Cut! [You should have heard Matt order it!]

IMG_8083Blog

It came with a baked potato and roll

IMG_8085Blog

I had a salad plate’s worth of a hunk of the steak, and half the potato and roll. It all tasted pretty good, but didn’t blow me away. Next on our to-do list is a bison burger.

IMG_8090Blog

This afternoon was filled information on labeling (nutrition facts and more). I must have had 5 handfuls of trail mix – couldn’t get enough of those M&Ms! Plus an orange when my hunger peaked at 4:30 that really hit the spot. I rarely snack at home these days (I’m not really sure how/why my body transitioned from snacking since this fall) but I am sure getting hungry between meals here. Trying my best to distinguish between boredom hunger and real hunger and drinking lots of water.

IMG_8071Blog

We’re cozied up in the hotel motel room about to put together some overnight oats!!

If there are m&ms in trail mix, you can be assured that I will pick each and every one out to eat… and leave everything else.

M & Ms in trail mix, those and raisins, are the reason i eat trail mix! I eat those and leave most of the rest 🙂

Glad you had a fun night out! Love the down-home decor in that restaurant! They are keeping it real, and old school in there 🙂

That restaurant made me feel like I’d been transported back home (Indiana). I realize you’re nowhere near Indiana, but it has that down home feel that I really miss here in Cali. Those steaks were huge. I bet you giggled when Matt ordered the Ladies’ cut. Some SERIOUS ladies, apparantly. :p

Sharing a meal is such a good idea– it looks like there’s was more than enough for two very nice meals! When I don’t have someone to share with, I sometimes either ask the chef to serve me only half and box the rest right out of the kitchen, or I ask for a box and do the dividing myself right away rather than packaging up the leftovers like I used to after I had what seemed like my fill (probably too much to eat).

I usually drink a ton anyhow but I find if Im craving snacks cos Im bored nothing but a snack stops the craving (and then another one, and then another one….)

Tara – I think the steak must be a prime rib. They’re usually cut really big and pink like that cause they roast it and then slice it rather than grilling each steak separately…just speculating is all.

Kath, I like seeing what Matt eats too! I was confused the first couple days when you went out to breakfast and lunch you mentioned sharing things with him but I wasn’t sure if you meant your meal or you just gave him your leftovers and he ate something else. haha. I guess I just like to see a variety 🙂
P.S. Do you ever feel like you have a rock in your stomach if you eat too much bread? I do love it, but it happens to me sometimes if I over do it and I think I would be eating wayyyyyy too much at training. You have excellent willpower!
