O-fficially Summer!

I stayed up too late playing with Matt, who arrived from Boston around 9pm. He’s in town for a wedding and stopped in for a quick overnight before we had to leave for our own wedding.

Kanz was quick to bring out 3 of his beers for a tasting! (Happy National Homebrew Day!!!)

I went to bed around 11 and got up at 5:45a. I am VERY grumpy when I don’t get enough sleep, so I see a nap in store on our car ride down (thanks to Matt for driving most of the way!! Usually we have to be all equal about our relationship and drive 50/50, but sometimes he’s nice and does some of my part.

I had to leave the house at 7a for my presentation and Matt II had plans to go mountain biking at 7 with friends, so we both had to get up at the crack of dawn and be on our way. He requested oatmeal, but we realized last night we wouldn’t have time, so we decided on smoothies and Great Harvest buns.

We split a Banana-Mango Smoothie –

2 servings: 1 banana, 1 mango, 1 big tbsp flax, 1 cup vanilla soy milk, 1/4 cup raw oatmeal (SO GOOD in smoothies!), a handful of ice and about 1/4 cup Stonyfield yogurt – the end of my container. Delish!

We also split the bun, toasted with Barney Butter + Blueberry Preserves from TJ’s.

I also had half a cup of coffee as I raced out the door to get me a little drunk before my presentation!

30 minutes later I was standing in front of my Food Science class and talking about my experiment results (overripe bananas rule!

) Luckily my professor let me go first and slip out when I was finished so we could make it down for the wedding events.

Happy Summer!

Hi Kath, I have been downloading different yoga workouts from the yogadownload.com site. I love them. Do you know of any sites that have workouts that show routines using light hand weights, that you can download? I’m looking for different routines I can do at home before the kids wake up! I have tried Self.com and other magazines, but don’t reallyl get much out of them. Thanks for your amazing blog! Elizabeth

Have fun at the wedding…I love seeing pics of American weddings..they are so white and serene. Mine was Indian – all reds, oranges and yellows. There were a 1000 people and it was as if I was the the star of a concert. 🙂

That smoothie looks amazing! Thanks for the recipe… I’m going to have to try that out for myself!

Just to let you know, I tried out plain, no-sugar added applesauce in my oats this morning. AMAZING! Just a hint of sweetness! I explain it all on my blog, but I just added about 1/3 cup applesauce about a minute after I put in the oats and banana. You should definitely give it a try!

I just wanted to say thanks for answering all my questions! I totally appreciate how you take the time to do that! 😀

MMmm I love Trader Joe’s blueberry jam, the taste reminds me of marionberry pie filling. YUM! (an Oregon berry that is so tasty!)

Love your blog. I’m so happy there is someone else who loves food like I do. By the way, have you read the book Food Matters by Mark Bittman. It’s very good. Enjoy your wedding. Congrats on finishing your exams.

    Good job on the presentation!

If my man ever “requested oatmeal” I think I would fall over in shock. He requests pancakes, but never oatmeal. Actually he requests waffles the most, but that’s just to be funny/annoying since we don’t have a waffle maker 🙂

Nice! I love the smoothie. But in the end I notice you drank coffee? How often or how many times do you drink in a day? I myself is a coffee drinker but I tend to add vanilla powder to my coffee to add some delicious taste.
