Not A Creature Was Stirring

…Not even a mouse

this !

IMG_5064Blog

But I was!

Guess who got up and enthusiastically went to the gym this morning!! I like to squeeze in one last cross train and weights session before I go on trips when I’ll likely being doing lots of pounding runs or days off. Today I took advantage of a bit of morning time and headed off into the sunrise.

In my automobile, I might add. It was SO MUCH EASIER to go to the gym in my car and down coat than ride my bike. Bikes are reserved for mid-day workouts.

The gym was rather empty, so I had a great workout. No wait for the Stairmaster, where I spent 30 sweaty minutes. And then I got my weight on with the heaviest 15 pounders I could find 😉

Back home to Double Banana Whipped Oatmeal!

IMG_5824BlogIMG_5826BlogIMG_5819Blog

The Mix

  • 1/3 cup oats, milk, water
  • 1 whole banana (usin’ em up!)
  • Flax, vanilla, salt
  • Salted pecans
  • Coconut
  • Christmas clove jam
  • Brazil nut butter

So good!!

Busy, busy day for me… I have already been out in the craziness to pick up one last minute thing, and now it’s cleaning and baking time!

I’m impressed! I’ve been trying to convince myself to go for a run before the baking resumes… it’s soooo cold though!

Clove jam sounds great. I bet that would be good in thumbprint cookies, too.

I made eggnog oats this a.m. It was just okay – may have been better if I had added a little extra nutmeg… On the up side – I used up the last of the nog! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I agree that is is so much easier working out when nobody is there. Its a lot less frustrating too! I like working out early in the morning so that I can get the ellipticals with the TVs on it so I can watch the Today Show.

Hey Kath, for resistance training workouts you should check out the Valslide (http://www.valslide.com). They are like mini-slideboards and are used for circuit training. I take them with me when I travel for workouts in small spaces, and I do take them to the gym as well. Just an idea if you are looking for something other than a pounding run. 🙂

    Merry Christmas!

15lbs weights! Dude, you are awesome. I use 5lbs or sometimes 8lbs. I know that the smiley face was supposed to imply “I’m kinda a wimp” but seriously, regularly using 15lbs free-weights is a real accomplishment (especially for the petite).

Merry Christmas and Safe Travels….oh, and peace on earth….and happy birthday baby Jesus.

Glad you tried the OPI polish and liked it! I’ve discovered I also like the Sally Hansen Xtreme polishes. They also have a nice wide brush, go on easy and dry fast. That’s what I’m wearing now and I’m really surprised I haven’t had any chipping. A benefit of having some time off work, I think. I’ve also been putting a clear top coat on every other day and I think that helps.

Have you head of Dave Carter from GH? Apparently, he was in a cookie bake-off at my gym.

I should go to the gym, but I think I’m going to go to Ulta and use my 20% off coupon on more nail polish. 🙂

    Happy Holidays!

I got up and ran today and it defintely felt good because I know I won’t be exercising tommorow or the next day. It’s not a big deal though, I rather enjoy the holidays than force myself to go out and run. I love running though, but sometimes you rather just sit inside and talk with family.
