New Finds!

Here’s another batch of New Finds: things I’ve bought and sampled lately.

While I’m always trying to be in downsizing / low purchase mode, sometimes I’m also in optimize + upgrade mode. I’ve also tried several new consumables and have a few new media to share!

New Duvet

When I moved into my townhouse, I took the duvet all the guest room bed. While pretty, it’s also very heavy (Pottery Barn) and it’s almost 20 years old, so there are a few holes. After I got this duvet cover for my boys’ rooms, I became obsessed and decided to get one for myself too. I’m obsessed with the fabric, it’s like a cotton-linen blend, and the zip close. I went with green to complement the pink! My only complaint is that they do not make square Euro shams to match! So I went with the same style of textured pillow cover I have on the downstairs couch, just in a 24″ square size. Love them! (This is my bed.)

Freck Beauty

Freck sent me samples of their serum, moisturizer, and lip balm. While I do like the serum and balm, the moisturizer is my favorite. I like that it’s a squeeze tube (perfect for my gym bag!) and I love that is has prickly pear from the cactus that calms redness and inflammation. There is also vitamin C built in. If you can get over the fact that your moisturizer has a swear word on it, this one is solid!

Crescent Canna

Crescent Canna sent me a sample of their THC drinks. I love these to relax on a weekend night when I don’t want to have alcohol (or get dehydrated). THC drinks help me sleep SO well. The Tropical Flavor is my favorite.

The Sound That Follows

My friend Jonathon’s mom just published a book, The Sound That Follows. “Blending Filipino folklore with chilling horror, The Sound That Follows is a haunting tale of family, loss, and the danger of answering what calls from the night.“I’m excited to start it as soon as I finished my current book! Fiddling While Rome Burns

Also in the creative space, my friend Sean just launched his latest album, Fiddling While Rome Burns. This album is a politically-charged response to the state of emergency that is our country right now. And some of the songs are truly brilliant! If you listen closely to one of the tracks, you might even hear me give a speech!!! Check it out on Spotify and Apple Music.

Beast Blender

A few weeks ago I slammed my hand-me-down blender into my countertop and broke the edge of it. That same week, Beast Blender reached out about theirs, and the next thing I knew it was on my doorstep. I have never had a single serve-style blender before, and let me tell you I am obsessed!!!

This one comes with three sizes of container, so you can make smoothies for the fam or just for yourself. I LOVE that you can screw on a lid and add a straw and then put it in the dishwasher when you’re done! As far as blending goes, it’s been great with no problems with spinach or frozen bananas. I also love that the blend cycle is a ‘step away’ style where you push a button and it does its thing, including stopping and starting so that ingredients fall back down to the bottom. It’s also gorgeous on the countertop! 9/10 review! It’s 15% off for Memorial Day right now!

Daily Harvest

Daily Harvest sent me some of their protein oatmeal to try. Love them! The texture is thick and hearty, and I love that there is fruit built in, plus superfoods like flax seeds. And all that protein? A great bonus!

Bombas

I’ve been wearing Bombas socks and thongs for years now, but I recently tried their newer seamless thongs. I have found my new favorite! Sometimes thongs can be too cutting on the hips, and other times too loose. These are peerrrrrfect.

Soshe Beauty

I got their mascara and lipstick as a sample. I really love the square packaging and how it doesn’t roll around! They are both great. The lipstick has ceramide and is smooth and the perfect weight and I’ve been reaching for it more than gloss lately. And the mascara is awesome! The brush is the thinner, bendable type that I prefer with a lengthening effect and peptides for lash health.

Stay Awhile

And lately, Dime sent me their new scent, Stay Awhile. I love the new bottle, and the scent is unlike any of the ones I already have. I smell vanilla musk a lot on the spray, and there are notes of floral underneath that I love too.
