Move Over.

Today was nonstop moving.

IMG_0401-2Blog

In fact, it hasn’t stopped yet. I just need to get my post up so we can pack the computer and keep working!!

Moves are tough. But also kind of fun.

HIGHLIGHT of my day: the insides of our kitchen drawers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IMG_0402-2Blog

The drawers were a horrible grungy wood color before – such a small change with a big improvement!

Painted the same color as our new living room: Benjamin Moore Robin’s Egg Blue

IMG_0404-2Blog

And the third glimpse of blue, a Caribbean-inspired master bath: Benjamin Moore Tranquil Blue

IMG_0405-2Blog

LOWLIGHT of my day – cleaning the trashcans!

IMG_0416-2Blog

I had all but decided to buy a new trashcan with this move. We’ve had our other one for about 5 years and it was GROSS, even with me cleaning it well before last year’s move.

IMG_0414-2Blog

Recycling bin – ewww!

IMG_0415-2Blog

I broke out the Shaklee Basic G (the grimiest one) and my Scour off – along with a steel wool in case I needed it.

IMG_0413-3Blog

I forgot to take an after shot before the sun set, but the can is now SPARKLING!! Thanks cherry  pits!

We made 3 trips to the house today with 2 Hondas and 1 SUV – thanks so much to Sara for her help!!!! She was there sweating right with me all afternoon. xo.

After trip #1, we took Larbs + Matt by the bakery to pick up the leftovers from Saturday for their trip home.

Sandwiches were made

IMG_0407-2Blog

Hummus + cheese + veggie

IMG_0408-2Blog

With some chips

IMG_0409-2Blog

And a bite of Rainbow for dessert

IMG_0412-2Blog

The bakery is so lonely on Sundays!

IMG_0411-2Blog

Matt and I worked straight through all afternoon and all I had for a snack was a handful of trail mix – could.not.stop.moving.

So by dinnertime and after our third trip to the house, we had dinner.

Now I had every intention of cooking tonight. I had a meal plan, ingredients and I know were my pot is. But I currently can’t see the stove in the new house, as it’s covered in boxes, and the old house kitchen is completely empty.

So we dined out again and went to a favorite place on long days: Continental Divide.

IMG_7013-2Blog

Where’s the beer!? Thirst won.

IMG_7015-2Blog

I had the Mushroom + Spinach Enchiladas in corn tortillas with rice and beans. SO delicious!!!

IMG_7016-2Blog

And I totally cleared my plate! It was one of those meals where your stomach is still growling by the last bite – but then it settles into nice satisfaction. We really love that place!

Going to work on cleaning. Movers come at 8:30a!

Such a good idea to paint the insides of your drawers. We have an old home (1918) and the drawers completely disgusted me when we moved in. Might have to do that still!

Are those sweet potato chips with your sandwich? They look delicious.

Love those blues! I think I should check out the tranquil blue for our bedroom. I have been wanting to paint it that tone of blue for ages and it doesn’t look like it’s so dark that my husband would object. Our room is small, so it has to be somewhat lighter in nature.

Good luck with the rest of the moving!

Moving is such a lot of work, I am always amazed by how much stuff I have that I haven’t touched in years and yet refuse to throw away. Maybe that needs to be added to my goals now so I might actually DO it before I move again!! 🙂

    Kath,
Just a quick breakfast suggestion for you to try!
I found something that to me is MUCH tastier than
    rolled oats,Scottish etc….
it is OAT BRAN! I was so surprised how much tastier it is
(and I think may have more protein?not sure!)

Ate it it with a drizzle of milk, a few chopped dried apricots
and slivered toasted almonds.Super yummy and I read the
same health benefits as straight up oatmeal!

Jave you tried oat bran ever? (I bought Bob’s Red Mill,
but will now look for cheaper options as well….)
