Malleability

My massage this morning was heavenly. And LONG! The gift certificate was for 90 minutes, and Jay generously spent even more time on me from start to finish, including a consultation.

Jay runs Core Revitalization and does a unique blend of therapies that involve making the body looser, stretchier, softer and more malleable. He did a little reflexology, a little acupressure, a little deep tissue massage, some stretching and LOTS of jiggling + shaking!!! My toes, hips, quads and hamstrings got quite the knead. Revitalized! Thank you Jay!

After my massage I treated myself to lunch downtown!

IMG_2347 (427x640)

Walking the mall was so exhilarating. It’s a beautiful day, and all the people out and about were full of life.

I settled on lunch at Eppies, which is perhaps my favorite casual spot on the Mall

IMG_2345 (640x427)

What started as a vegetarian plate of black beans, cornbread, sweet potato and a side salad…

IMG_2343 (640x427)

Turned into quite the KERF-ed up salad!

IMG_2344 (640x427)

I poured the black beans on top and diced up the sweet potato. Cornbread on the edge!

IMG_2346 (640x427)

Their cornbread is like cake!

IMG_2342 (640x427)

This salad completely hit the spot and left me so full I canceled my plans for gelato!

IMG_2341 (640x427)

I also brought my book, however..

Books = timeless

Blogs = real time

…so I ended up reading blogs + emails on my phone. Still fun!

I’m down at the bakery now, ready to get some afternoon action. If I can muster up the energy in my muscles!

    That was so creative putting the sides right into your salad. I never would have thought to do something like that – I guess that’s why you do what you do 😉

    Glad your massage went well – hope your muscles aren’t too doughy to work this afternoon!

    …so I ended up reading blogs + emails on my phone. Still fun! = THAT IS ME!

    I always end up reading blogs, my email, my google reader, anything other than real books, usually…what can I say, I love the instantaneous, real time stuff!

    And a 90 min massage, and you were able to venture out and walk around? Impressive! I am usually just a limp noodle after a massage and walk around totally aimlessly and disoriented in my post massage bliss…haha!

    Skipped the gelato? That’s never good 😉

    When we were in Italy this spring, our strategy was to share a gelato every day. We got to try lots of great flavors, and it was never too much — you just needed Matt with you. All of the walking we did also helped us work up quite the appetite.

I am totally that way too.. however – the past two days have been different as I have been engulfed in a book called Ain’t No Sunshine by Leslie Debious. Very Strange – but hooking book. Are you sore from the massage? – y’know in a “good way”? Massages can typically leave you sorer if worked hard.

        90 minutes! I’ve only ever had a 45 min. one – and they stuck to the limit! I need a Jay.
