Insanity!

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!! I couldn’t sleep at all last night worrying about this packing. I’m actually on hold right now with PODS to see if we can get a second container delivered today for all the boxes that we don’t think are going to fit. Insanity!

I’ve been up since 5:30 and tore apart my bedroom for packing. Then showered. Then came down to this mess:

Despite the mess, I still managed to create one final delicious bowl of oatmeal.

IMG_5742 (640x427)

Made a double match for mom and me. For TWO servings:

  • 2/3 cup oats
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2/3 cup vanilla soy milk
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 banana
  • Pinch salt, splash vanilla
  • Nature’s Path Granola
  • Biscoff
  • Maranatha Dark Chocolate Almond Butter MELT!!

Iced coffee with mint!

Goodbye Garden!

My stomach is in knots. Since typing this on hold with PODS, they say they can’t get a second container here until next week. That won’t help us one bit! Rats.

I’ll be back to tune in to you guys sometime today.

Dreaming of being on the beach next weekend with all these last whirlwinds behind me!

Do you have any storage places nearby that would rent you a space today, e.g. POD Plan B?

No matter how stressful it feels right now, it WILL be over soon. And you’ll hope never to have to go through it again 😀 But hey, at least there’s Charlottesville and Eppie’s date/goats cheese/corn salad to look forward to! (I miss that place!)

You’re doing a great job handling all this stress; I’d be a nervous wreck just from the state of the kitchen, much less the packing and moving! Just think that some way or another, it will all be over this time next week!

Just remember to breathe! PODS always hold way more than you would expect them to. Just be sure to pack all the way to the top – you’ll be surprised how much will fit. If it doesn’t end up fitting, then you can make arrangements knowing exactly how large your overflow is.

    Smile! It’s almost over 🙂

I’ve read that moving is one of the most stressful experiences a person can go through (right up there with divorce and death! Yikes!). You will get through this and be all the stronger because of it. When in doubt, think of yourself lying on the beach next week with nary a care in the world 🙂

What might help to fit everything in is to pack soft items like clothing, sheets and blankets in big plastic storage bags or trash bags (with the storage bags, you could even vacuum out the air, compressing the size to nothing!). Then you can fit those in around those pesky boxes, saving a huge amount of space.

    Good luck!!

Kath-love your blog. always read, never comment. I am one of those (LOL) I have moved 31 times in my 42 years. Heres some ideas: Have any GOOD friends with a big garage or shed? Present with bottle of wine and ask to use for a few weeks or rent a storage unit (they come in many sizes) month to month until you get the pod or move to Charlotte. Here in VA many storage units rent first month free-just move out before the second month. Even if you have to ferry your boxes over in cars (that sucks, I know) you can get your stuff out of the house by tomorrow. Best of luck! Breath…..
