I Love Things In Bowls

I have a double meal post for you this afternoon! Breakfast and lunch in bowls. Did you know I actually gave away a lot of my bowl collection? At one point I probably had 100 different bowls in every color and size, and now I am down to just my very favorites – including all of our wedding Pottery Barn Great White bowls. The older I get the more I feel the need to simplify the things my life!

Breakfast today was yogurt topped with blueberries and pomegranate seeds plus a bunch of Cville Cluster Granola crumbs on top! Cville Cluster is the best granola ever, but it’s so good that I can’t keep it around. Every now and then Matt brings me the crumbs and small clusters from the bottom of the giant mixing bowl when they make a fresh batch at the bakery, so today’s topping was a nice treat! This was the first time Mazen got the concept of “cereal with milk” and he was quite a happy camper! FYI, no nut butter today because the ‘Cluster is quite high in fat! It’s about as dense as peanut butter.

For lunch: leftover vegetable soup! Topped with Greek yogurt, per usual, and cheese because it’s freakin’ delicious.  I added a few leftover roasted sweet potatoes to the soup too – a nice touch!

We have some special visitors coming this weekend: Grammie and Pea! Mazen is flipping out with excitement and has been counting down the days….as only a two year old would know how to do ; )

i don’t know what i love more — eating things out of bowls, or eating things out of mugs! my favorite is the oversized mug, which is basically a mug/bowl hybrid and the best idea ever. 🙂

Where do you usually purchase your bowls? I’m looking for some good looking ones but I always find plain ones at my local thrift shop.

I love meals in bowls too but I’m on the lookout for cute bowls. I guess I’ll have to stop by pottery barn!

    Love these quick little posts!!

Quick question – how much broth is in the soup? Do you ever add more after refrigeration?

It’s one 32 ounce box in the recipe, and you can add more if you like a brothy soup. The barley will suck up some in the fridge.

Friends and Good Will. I should have done something cool with them but the thought of finding good shipping materials and them breaking In the mail held me back!

That Cville cluster is sooo good. I had a bag from my Quarterly box. It didn’t last long. I think I polished off a bag within a few days. Yum!

Is it lame that I love bowls with handles?? I’m always tempted to put coffee in them, though…
